"Why are you looking for me?" I grumbled, my voice carrying the weariness of a sleep-deprived zombie who had just clawed his way out of the grave. Without wasting any time, I flopped down onto a nearby single couch, my gaze fixed upon her.
Almost instinctively, my protective pets moved closer to me, their furry bodies finding their rightful places on my lap, shoulder, and at my feet. It was an unspoken warning, a declaration that Ruby should keep her distance from me.

" Is she intending to hurt me?" I asked once more, my voice laced with a mix of skepticism and nonchalance. As the words left my lips, I reclined further into the sofa.
Ruby paused for a moment, her brows furrowing as she considered her response. With a gentle shake of her head, she dismissed the notion. "No," she replied, her tone firm yet reassuring. "She doesn't have any intention of harming you."
I shifted on the sofa, finding a more comfortable position, looking at Ruby. "Then what's the problem?" I asked.
