Chapter 236 : Threat
Chapter 236 : Threat
The sun was just rising, and the air outside carried the fragrance of dawn.
There weren't many people on the street. Occasionally, you could see a few boys eating buns, or some youthful-looking girls waiting for cars at the west gate station.
With only a few days left until the exam, going out for a walk to relax was a good idea.
Su Yun wore a light yellow sun hat on her head and long pants on her lower body, walking with her head down on this familiar street.
She continuously scanned the open shops with her eyes. Even for shops that weren't open, she would recall her impressions of them.
Su Yun thought that shops with shallow impressions or poor reputations should be the hideout. After all, they were constantly going out to do bad things with so many people. The shop should be messy and not genuinely serving food, so the taste wouldn't be good either.
This was Su Yun's hypothesis—she was ninety percent confident. So on the road ahead, she looked and recalled simultaneously.
About three hours later, the sun had moved from the horizon to directly overhead. The bright sunlight made Su Yun unable to open her eyes.
Su Yun was grateful she wasn't afraid of sunlight. Otherwise, she would have given up long ago. Of course, all this was thanks to Qin Xue's blood.
"Hehe..." On Sunday noon, the street was filled with girls' cheerful chatter.
Their lighthearted appearance showed they were having a great time during the holidays.
But Su Yun wasn't very happy right now.
"Can't find it..."
She pressed her hat down, her small face wrinkled.
Three hours. She ran from the west gate to the north gate, from the north gate to the east gate, then from the east gate to the south gate, then...
The speed didn't affect Su Yun's memory. After running, she mentally pieced together all the road conditions from these few kilometers into a large map, then filtered through each one. Su Yun thought she was so capable that she could easily spot the difference in that shop.
But she overestimated herself. Almost every shop had some impression, and it felt like every one was ordinary.
This was impossible to find.
What about Tuesday then... sister Xue would have to take her exam then.
Su Yun found a stone to sit on, puffing out her cheeks while thinking with her head down.
"Ding ling ling~"
A vibration came from her pants. Su Yun picked up her phone to see it was Qin Xue calling.
"This girl woke up, ah! I don't have time to get back!"
Only then did Su Yun remember Qin Xue. She hurriedly stood up.
After answering the phone, the person inside was full of complaints, almost jumping through the screen to drag her home.
"Hm, I'm coming back right now. Snow Sister, I'm sorry."
Shoving the phone back in her pocket, Su Yun straightened her hat that was about to fall off and quickly walked toward home.
She hadn't found anything this morning. She'd have to try again another evening.
Along the way, people came and went. Su Yun just weaved past them.
Then, at a crossroads just before getting home, Su Yun was surprised to discover a familiar yet strange figure.
Strange because she'd forgotten, familiar because looking at it gave her a feeling of disgust.
Su Yun stared blankly at the tall man as he led a girl into a shop.
Who was this person... why did they make her feel so disgusted?
Su Yun stood not far from the shop entrance, thinking for a while.
...Student council president?
When she thought of this name, it instantly explained the feeling of disgust in her heart.
Su Yun didn't hesitate anymore. She quietly crept closer to the barbecue shop from a nearby store.
This barbecue shop was newer than the shops next to it. The paint on the walls was freshly applied.
Su Yun remembered now. This shop had just been renovated recently, converted from a previous restaurant into a barbecue shop. When she was thinking earlier, she had been thinking of the previous restaurant. That restaurant was indeed quite ordinary, but she didn't know about this newly opened one and hadn't thought much about it.
It was strange—there had been quite a few people on the way here earlier, but this area had no one around at all.
Inside the shop, there were only Shi Lezhi and the girl he brought.
Su Yun stood by an electric pole outside, peeking in, hoping to discover some evidence. But she saw the girl suddenly collapse onto the table.
This familiar scene made Su Yun think the girl was drunk, since there was indeed alcohol on the table.
But... why wasn't she moving? Shouldn't someone who's drunk be struggling around uncomfortably?
Su Yun quickly realized something was wrong. Then she remembered what Shen Yanxin said the day before—the student council president drugged her...
"This is the second one!?" She was completely stunned. So drugging girls was this simple? These girls must be too naive.
Su Yun didn't hide anymore. She walked in through the front door of the shop, planning to order something.
The shop owner was quite nice. Even though she ordered very little, he still smiled and grilled it for her.
After buying less than ten yuan worth of things in the shop, Su Yun sat down at a position behind Shi Lezhi.
She thought he wouldn't recognize her with her hat covering her hair, but she was wrong.
"White Snow Princess, want to sit here? I ordered quite a lot. I can't finish it all," Shi Lezhi saw through her disguise and actively invited her to eat with him.
"Thank you."
Su Yun didn't say much because she wanted to sit next to the unconscious girl so she could take her back to the dorm later.
"How have your exams been going recently?"
Sitting at the table, Shi Lezhi ate his skewers casually, asking Su Yun about school matters as if nothing was wrong.
"What's wrong with this girl? Is she drunk?"
Su Yun didn't want to chat with him. Instead, she directly asked about the girl.
Shi Lezhi stared at the cold white-haired girl in front of him and gave a nervous laugh: "Yeah, she can't hold her alcohol. What's wrong?"
"..."
Seeing the other's smile, Su Yun felt a dangerous awareness rise in her heart.
There was no one passing by outside the shop. Except for the shop staff, it was just the three of them.
Although this barbecue shop didn't have much business, there were quite a few staff members. With so many people, Shi Lezhi shouldn't dare do anything too extreme.
Su Yun didn't want to linger with this person anymore. She was in a hurry to get home and comfort someone.
"Something just came up. You can eat what I ordered later."
"I know where her dorm is. It's on the way anyway. I'll help you send her back. No need to thank me."
Su Yun pulled the girl's hand and slowly stood up.
Suddenly, a strong hand pressed down on her shoulder.
"Hehe."
Su Yun looked up in surprise, meeting Shi Lezhi's triumphant smile. He looked extremely evil.
"Now that you're in here, don't think about leaving... ugh!"
Shi Lezhi let out a yelp and quickly retreated to the position behind him, looking at Su Yun with fear.
"You, how is your strength so great!?"
"I've trained. What's the problem?"
Su Yun half-carried the girl, standing in place. She hadn't expected him to have improper intentions even in the shop.
But just when she thought he had given up, she saw him rubbing his twisted hand, and his face showed a smile again.
"Hehe, I see. That's unexpected. But I think we should have a good chat."
"You and Qin Xue are lesbians, right? No wonder you wanted to block her before. But even if your family agrees, with Qin Xue's family background, do you think her mother would agree?"
"??"
This statement left Su Yun stunned for a moment. She hadn't expected the news to spread so quickly.
"As I thought, hehe. By the way, I can find her family's contact information through the files. If I make a call right now..."
