Chapter 227 Buying a Store
Chapter 227 Buying a Store
After resolving the issues in Liangjia Shop.
The two of them drove their donkey cart around the streets to see which street would be best to open their restaurant.
Like the street where they used to set up stalls to sell things, there was all sorts of things, but very few restaurants.
There are still many restaurants and hotels on the street behind. People who want to eat at mealtime will naturally go there, so restaurants can be found on the street with more restaurants.
So although the competition seems fierce on that street, the customer base is also large.
"Let's go to the dental shop now and see what shops they have for rent or sale."
Jiang Ci retracted her gaze from the restaurant over there, "That's right! It's no use just looking at it, we have to go and see which ones are for sale or rent."
When they arrived at the brokerage firm, the people there treated them politely because of their attire and temperament.
The clothes they wear now are completely different from what they wore a year ago. When they walk around in this town, others would think they are the people who run a shop in this town.
A middle-aged man greeted them, "Hello, two young masters. Just call me Wuyaren."
"We plan to open a food store in this town, and then another one specializing in beverages. Let's look for all the stores, big and small."
"Okay, you two will wait a moment."
Wu Yaren led them to sit at a table inside, and he took out a notebook and a stack of papers from the cabinet over there and carried them out.
"Do the two young masters have any requirements for the location of this shop?"
"It's best to choose a street with more food shops."
"Well, then it's rent or buy."
"It's fine, but it's better to buy it."
He sighed in his heart that these two people were good-looking and spoke nicely.
Wu Yaren first took a look at the booklet, which seemed to record shops that wanted to be rented out or sold.
He picked out a few sheets of paper with numbers on them from the papers underneath and placed them in front of the two of them.
"The ones above are all shops on Gufang Street. This first one has an excellent location."
The paper had a very simple picture of the shop, and beside it were written details about the shop, such as how many square meters were there for customers in the front, how many square meters were there for the kitchen, and whether there was a backyard.
"This one looks a little small."
"Indeed, this place originally only sold noodles."
Wu Yaren took away the first one, and Jiang Ci realized that the shop where the painting was placed was just a decoration, because it looked no different and was so sloppy.
The second one is a small two-story restaurant, twice the size of the previous one. Jiang Ci was quite satisfied with it.
"Why is this shop being sublet? And what are the businesses on both sides and opposite?"
When Wu Yaren heard Jiang Ci's question, the smile on his face faded a lot.
"The original shopkeepers wanted to pass the shop on to their son when they got old, but their two sons were fighting, so they decided to sell it. Opposite is..."
There were many people who were interested in this shop, but when they heard this reason, they didn't want to get into unnecessary trouble.
Jiang Ci said the same thing, "Let's look at the next one."
There is only one shop for sale and three shops for sublease on Gufang Street. This street is the most prosperous when it comes to food business.
However, Jiangci is confident in their Chinese cuisine. As long as the restaurant is not located in a remote corner where you can't even find it, it will be successful.
As the saying goes: Good wine needs no bush.
Then I looked at the shops on the long street behind.
When Wu Yaren saw the shop, he felt more confident. "Take a look at this shop. It has a good location and is of a suitable size."
What catches the eye is still a stick figure shop that doesn’t make out anything, but look at the standards next to it.
This is a two-story restaurant with a small courtyard of about ten square meters at the back. There are two rooms next to it, and the total area including the kitchen is about 200 square meters.
Jiang Ci turned around and looked at Lin Jingsheng questioningly.
"It feels okay." He believed that the dishes made from the recipes written by Jiang Ci might gradually increase in variety in the future, and there would not be enough space in this restaurant.
The Wuya people looked at the young man who made the decision and felt that he was satisfied from his expression. Then they quickly explained the reason for selling the shop.
"This shop had good business in the early years. It was a branch opened from the capital to our town. However, I don't know what went wrong with the owner in the past two years. As time went by, the business got worse and worse. A few days ago, someone from their place listed it in our dental office for resale. You two young masters can rest assured. After the owner from the capital sold the shop, they won't have time to come here and cause any trouble."
"This one looks pretty good. Is there a small shop next to this one?"
The dentist searched for a while, then found something and his eyes lit up. "You two can have a look at the original noodle shop. These two shops are very close to each other."
"Then why are you reselling this?"
"Well, their son is an official in the capital, and he is enjoying the good life with them."
"Is there a back door behind this shop?"
"Yes, all the shops on Gufang Street have back doors."
"Then go and have a look."
Jiangci didn’t choose any other stores and just went straight to look. If she was not satisfied, she would come back and continue looking.
I went to see the small shop first. Since it was not lunch time, there were not many people inside.
A middle-aged couple who were preparing noodles in the kitchen saw someone coming into the shop. The man came out to greet them and when he saw the Wuya man, he knew that this was the only one left for the shop.
"You two are here to see the shop, right? Just take a look around."
But the husband behind also came out.
Jiang Ci was quite satisfied with this shop. It was less than 50 square meters in size, which was enough for selling drinks. Because drinks had to be provided to the restaurant behind, the quantity had to be large and the area needed to be larger.
The couple with noodles still on their hands breathed a sigh of relief as they looked at the two people who seemed quite satisfied.
The husband spoke up, "We are actually reluctant to part with this noodle shop that we have run for decades, but we may never come back. We are reluctant to sell it, so we hope you can take good care of it."
"Don't worry about this, you two."
Jiang Ci went to the back door to take a look again.
The middle-aged man explained, "When we normally move noodles to the store, they are opened and are good."
Then we went to the restaurant on the street behind to have a look. Its name was quite grand, "Hongsheng Restaurant".
There were not many people inside. When they went in, the owner of the restaurant greeted them warmly. It seemed that he really wanted to sell the restaurant.
Jiang Ci and Lin Jingsheng looked around the shop upstairs, downstairs, the kitchen and the backyard, and were very satisfied with it.
The total value of these two shops was 630 taels of silver, and this was when both shops were sold to him at low prices.
Although it still felt like a lot of money when he paid, when Jiang Ci thought about the useless gem he bought with 200 taels of silver, it didn't seem that valuable anymore.
After the money was paid and the property was transferred, both companies agreed to clean up the shops within two days.
