Chapter 47 Increase Acquisitions
Chapter 47 Increase Acquisitions
The stun gun has been used for so long that the battery is almost depleted.
While waiting for it to charge, Zhang Beichuan picked up his phone and ordered another stun gun, so that he could always have a backup in case of emergency.
Just as he was about to turn off his phone, a card suddenly popped up on the order confirmation screen: "Concentrated Devil's Spicy, One Spray and You'll Be Incredibly Hot."
Looking at the content in the picture, Zhang Beichuan clicked on it casually, glanced at the product details page, and then opened a webpage to search for it.
"If a sanitary insecticide aerosol was successfully developed in 82, does that mean it was perfectly normal to bring a pepper spray with an aerosol nozzle to 1986?"
He muttered something to himself, then promptly placed an order for several bottles.
He then loaded the nylon stockings and watch he had prepared last time into the tricycle, and on a whim, he returned to 1986.
Meanwhile, a few thugs arrived early in the morning at a clothing store diagonally opposite the entrance of Beichuan Department Store.
When Zhou Jing saw that it was Zhao Xueming's man, she immediately made a face.
"Brothers, I've just opened the shop. Besides, I've already paid this month's management fee, so you guys..."
The leader, still half asleep, glared at her impatiently.
"Stop talking nonsense and get on with your business."
After he finished speaking, his henchman, who knew the place well, brought a few stools from the shop, and the group sat down inside.
This startled Zhou Jing quite a bit, but after a while, she realized that Haozi and his gang weren't there to cause trouble or ask for money.
Instead, he kept staring at the Beichuan Department Store diagonally across the street, as if he were stalking someone.
A short while later, the group of thugs saw that not only Lan Baojun had arrived, but also the Lan Baoqiang brothers, and they immediately felt uneasy.
Having failed to gain any advantage from Zhang Beichuan several times in a row, Zhao Xueming learned his lesson this time and decided to observe Zhang Beichuan and his group for a while first.
Understand the operating rules of Beichuan Department Store, then figure out a way to deal with them.
Because Beichuan Department Store offers high-quality products at reasonable prices and features trendy items, coupled with free word-of-mouth promotion from many customers who have shopped there.
Not long after the store opened in the morning, a lot of people came in one after another, keeping Zhang Dequan and Lan Baojun very busy.
As it approached noon, the number of people in the store began to decrease.
Zhang Dequan, who was leaning over the counter, kept pressing a lighter in his hand.
"Brother-in-law, can you stop pressing the lighter? If you keep doing that, you'll break it," Lan Baojun complained.
He knew perfectly well why his brother-in-law, Zhang Dequan, was so distracted. Today was Zhang Beichuan's first time delivering eels to the city, and he was worried about something going wrong on the way.
Slightly taken aback, Zhang Dequan smiled awkwardly and put down the lighter he was giving the customer to try out.
Around noon, Zhang Beichuan arrived on time in the backyard of Beichuan Department Store, pushing his tricycle.
"Third Brother, I'm back!"
Hearing the noise coming from the backyard, Zhang Dequan rushed inside.
Seeing Zhang Beichuan panting heavily, not a single hair on his head had fallen, the weight in my heart finally lifted.
"Did you encounter any problems on the road?"
"No, Third Brother, don't worry. I ran into some people from our county who were going to the city to resell goods on the way. It was very safe traveling with them."
Lan Baojun and Baoqiang greeted them from outside, telling them to keep an eye on the business. They went to the backyard and saw a box and several chickens in the tricycle.
"Didn't sell?"
Zhang Beichuan took a breath, took the bowl of water handed to him by his grandfather, and gulped it down.
"Sold out. I bought these chickens from the market. I'll take them to the city tomorrow; my friend needs them a lot."
In 2026, it only took a little over two hours to sell eels, while in 1986, it only took a little over two minutes.
After returning to 1986, Zhang Beichuan could not go directly back to Beichuan Department Store.
Therefore, he rode his tricycle to several villages around the county town and collected five roosters.
He also told the local villagers that if they had chickens to sell, they could take them to Beichuan Department Store at No. 26 Jiefang Road. The price would be the market price, plus an extra 30 cents per chicken.
After finishing all that, he leisurely returned to Beichuan Department Store.
Lan Baojun looked at him with surprise. "So, that means all the eels are sold out?"
"right."
"How much does it cost per pound?"
Seeing his equally curious grandfather, Zhang Beichuan thought for a moment and made up a figure that was relatively consistent with the prices in 1986.
"Eight cents a pound."
"Eight mao? That's the same price as fish!" Zhang Dequan said in surprise.
Zhang Beichuan smiled, nodded, and changed the subject.
"Third Brother, when you go back this afternoon, please talk to Da Hu and his brother for me and tell them to take as much as they can tonight. Also, Third Brother, could you find two or three other families you have a good relationship with and see if you can get even more?"
He didn't go back to tell them himself; he just wanted his grandparents to go to the village to find people so that in the future, the families who made money catching eels would remember his grandparents' kindness.
In case anything happens at home in the future, there will be more people willing to lend a helping hand.
Upon hearing this, Zhang Dequan didn't think too much about it, but he was even more confused.
"Youngest, if you get two or three more families' kids to help you catch them, you'll have about seventy or eighty pounds a day. That's a lot, will your friend be able to handle it?"
Zhang Beichuan looked at him with a smile, "Third Brother, don't worry. My friend has been in the seafood business for many years. If he says it's going to work, then it's going to work."
"Okay, okay... I'll go back this afternoon and find some people to do it for you."
Lan Baojun was completely dumbfounded. What nobody wanted in the countryside was actually a hot commodity in the city and the provincial capital.
Zhang Beichuan turned around, looked at his great-uncle who was in a daze, and patted him on the shoulder.
"Baojun, what are you thinking about?"
"Huh? No...no, is the box full of goods we brought back?"
"Yes, nylon stockings and a watch."
"You're back just in time; we were almost out of both of these items." Lan Baojun picked up one of the boxes. "Alright, I'll go get back to work and put the stock away."
That afternoon, Zhang Dequan made a trip to Shihe Village.
Lan Xiuying, who was directing three little girls who had just returned from school to blow rice with a windmill, heard the clanging and banging sound outside and turned around to look.
"Dequan, why didn't Xiaochuan come back with you?"
"Dad!" the three little girls called out in unison.
Sweating profusely, Zhang Dequan responded with a smile, got off his bicycle, pushed it into the yard, and propped it up.
"He said he went to the city before dawn and was exhausted. From the village to the county, I figured I could manage it by myself."
Lan Xiuying thought about it and agreed.
"By the way, how about Xiaochuan delivers the eels to the city?"
Seeing his wife's curious gaze, Zhang Dequan kept her in suspense.
"Guess how much it costs per pound?"
Lan Xiuying glanced at the three little girls, her eyes fixed on a piece of meat hanging on the cart handle.
"Lili, go wash the meat and pick some vegetables." She pulled Zhang Dequan aside, worried the girls' loud voices would carry, and asked, "Can we sell it for 4 cents a pound?"
"No, guess again!"
Lan Xiuying looked at his smug expression and thought for a moment.
"That six cents?"
"Eight cents!" Zhang Dequan blurted out.
Upon hearing this, Lan Xiuying was stunned for a moment, then subconsciously reached out to cover his mouth. She glanced back and saw that the three little girls had already run to the vegetable garden.
"What? Eight cents a pound?"
"Yes!" Zhang Dequan laughed at her surprised expression, then added, "Xiao Chuan asked me to come back this time not only to take away the eels, but also to ask for more tomorrow, so he wants me to find two or three more families' children to help catch them."
"With so many people involved, how can we possibly handle it?"
"Yes, he said it's no problem."
Lan Xiuying nodded. "Alright, since Xiao Chuan asked you to find someone, take a break and go to the village to ask around among the families you know, and get things done for them."
"I know, don't worry!"
