Chapter 1079: Meeting and Testing
After returning to Shanghai from Suzhou, life seemed to return to its former tranquility.
Maowa hasn't finished his studies in the United States yet, and he only came back for special reasons, so he won't be staying for more than a few days. However, he still remembers his promise to Miguo and plans to meet with Miguo's boyfriend in the next few days.
Huang Erhe and Cheng Jing shared the same idea, so when Huang Erhe told Maowa about it, the father and son were of one mind, which made Huang Erhe and Cheng Jing feel quite gratified.

Two days before Maowa's departure, on a Saturday, Miguo took Jifeng to a coffee shop on Huaihai Road.
Along the way, Ji Feng was a little puzzled. His girlfriend suddenly said she wanted to take him to meet someone. When he asked who it was, Mi Guo refused to tell him, only saying that he would know when they met.

After the two approached, Miguo introduced her boyfriend to Maowa: "Brother, this is my boyfriend, Ji Feng."
"This is my brother, Huang Zedi!"
Maowa carefully examined the person in front of him, who was of average height, about 1.75 meters tall. He was fair-skinned, not wearing glasses, and looked very refined. His face was slightly red, indicating that he was a little nervous since it was their first meeting.
Maowa pointed to the seat opposite him: "Sit down!"

"Chinese Language and Literature," Ji Feng answered honestly.
"Oh!" Maowa nodded, then asked, "Where are you from?"
"From Wuzhou, Zhejiang Province." Ji Feng then added, "Our small commodity market is very famous."
Maowa smiled: "I know!"
Ji Feng was a little embarrassed and chuckled.
How many people are in your family?
"There are four of us. I also have a younger sister who is in her first year of high school this year."
What do your parents do?
"My dad runs a zipper and button factory in our hometown, and my mom helps manage it. It's not a big factory; there are currently more than two hundred workers."
As Mao Wa asked the questions, he observed Ji Feng's expression. The kid seemed a bit nervous, but he answered the questions very honestly, without any hint of showing off. He seemed like a pretty genuine person.
To ease his tension, Ji Feng picked up his coffee and took a sip, but he drank it too quickly and choked, coughing for a long time until his face turned red.
Migo, standing to the side, was both annoyed and distressed, and whispered comfortingly, "Drink it slowly!"

This question stunned Ji Feng. He looked at Mi Guo beside him, then at Mao Wa, and shook his head.
Maowa looked at Ji Feng and thought that the kid was actually quite honest.
He then asked, "In that case, what are your plans for the future?"
Ji Feng thought for a moment and said, "Of course I'll finish university first. I plan to take the postgraduate entrance exam and apply to Shanghai University or East China Normal University. I want to stay in Shanghai in the future because Miguo is here, and I want to stay too."
Hearing this, Maowa asked calmly, "Will your parents agree? Didn't you just say that you're their only son, and that they have a business? Do you think your parents would agree to you staying in Shanghai?"
Ji Feng was stumped by the question. He paused for a moment, thought carefully, and then said seriously, "I will handle this. I think my parents will respect my opinion. After all, parents all want their children to live well."
Maowa looked at him without saying a word.
Ji Feng added, "I know it might be a bit too early for me to say these things now, but my feelings for Mi Guo are truly genuine."
"Brother!" Migo looked at Maowa with pleading eyes.
But Maowa came today carrying his parents' instructions, so he ignored Miguo's pleading gaze and continued to ask Ji Feng, "What will you do if one day you find that our family's situation is different from what you imagined?"

After considering for a while, Ji Feng said very seriously, "I like Mi Guo as a person. As for what her family is like or what her situation is, it will not affect my liking for Mi Guo."
Maowa stared at Ji Feng for a long time, making Ji Feng somewhat at a loss. Finally, Maowa laughed.
His smile relieved both Ji Feng and Mi Guo.
