Chapter 65 Remnants of the Old Era and the New Order
Jaina turned around, her beautiful eyes widening in surprise, and she uttered the name of the newcomer:
"John Wick... Death has come."
She had intended to call him "Jonathan," but John was dressed in a state-of-the-art bulletproof suit and professional combat boots, and his fingers lifted the hem of his suit to reveal an Austrian-made 32mm Glock pistol at his waist.
His medium-length hair was neatly combed back, his beard was cleanly shaved, and he looked full of energy.
Gianna knew that John had a habit of tidying himself up before doing things, which would make him appear clean and efficient, and make his actions more precise and deadly.
John is a meticulous killer, as evidenced by the minimalist villa that was destroyed by five grenades.
A neat hairstyle also prevents his vision from being obstructed by drooping strands of hair.
John did not respond to Gianna's teasing, and stood silently behind her.
Jaina was not ashamed of his arrival, but faced it with composure.
She wasn't the shy, delicate type; her naked body only amplified her queenly aura.
"I thought we were friends," she said.
"It always has been," John replied.
"Who wants to kill me?" Jaina asked.
"Your brother, Santino de Antonio," John said truthfully.
After the villa was destroyed, John went to Winston, the manager of the Continental Hotel, hoping to mediate the blood pact issue. However, Winston's reply was exactly the same as that bastard Santino's.
That's a killer's secret phrase that has been passed down from the Moroccan desert to this day:
"This is your blood. Your bond."
(This is your blood, this is your covenant.)
John's mind drifted back to Winston's words:
"This is your blood pact; you must do it!"
"Breaking the blood pact will result in you being wanted by the entire High Table, and you must not harm him before the blood pact is completed."
……
"Do we have to do this?" Jaina asked.
"A blood pact," John replied coldly.
Upon hearing the words "blood pact," Jaina said no more. The ancient order established by the High Table over centuries hung like an unshakeable, cold guillotine over her neck.
She glanced at John with a complicated expression, then stepped into the private bathhouse, a building dating back to ancient Rome in 212 AD.
Her alabaster toes sank into the spring water, followed by her smooth calves, her slender waist showing signs of fitness, her elongated belly, her large, firm breasts, and finally her sweaty collarbone.
The warm, azure spring water rippled in concentric circles, the patterns on the surface repeatedly interrupting the flickering red candle flames around the bath. Wisps of white smoke rose from frankincense, sourced from Egypt and considered as precious as gold, while the sweet scent of pine resin, carrying a gentle woody aroma, permeated the air.
The white smoke mixed with the humid steam blurred John's eyes.
He drew his gun and pointed it at Jaina.
Jaina grasped the silver hairpin and held it to her wrist, saying each word clearly:
"I will decide my own death!"
Just then, a frankincense crystal struck Jaina's wrist with precision. With a "plop," the silver hairpin fell into the pool and, under the influence of water buoyancy, slowly "floated" downwards to the bottom of the pool like a feather.
John cautiously drew his gun at the sound, but stopped himself just as he was about to pull the trigger.
"Jack?" he asked in surprise.
Titus nodded, took out a blood pact and tossed it to John. John caught it and pressed it open. The blood pact's steel seal actually had two bloody fingers imprinted on it. This was a completed blood pact.
And this blood pact is the one that John and Santino shared!
John looked at it twice in disbelief, and exclaimed in surprise:
"What did you do?"
Jaina rose from the water, glistening water droplets clinging to the grapes, and she reminded them:
"This is a blood pact; pressing any random guide won't count."
Titus nodded to indicate that he understood, and began to explain in detail:
Back at noon that day, Helios displayed his divine power, and the heavens shone brightly!
Titus arrived at the Antonio estate to visit Santino de Antonio.
He gave the name of the assassin Jack, and Santino readily agreed to meet him.
Santino, in a showy manner, chose a mural room of about 200 square meters inside the estate as the meeting place.
This is a mural hall made of smooth marble. In the center of the wall hangs a painting called "The Alliance of the Horatii", which is 3.3 meters high and 4.25 meters wide. In front of the painting are two sofas with backrests.
The two sat on separate sofas, facing a huge oil painting, surrounded by black-clad bodyguards with guns.
The atmosphere was solemn and dignified.
Titus couldn't help but wonder if if he wore athletic shorts without underwear, he could see his dangling testicles through the holes in his shorts on the spotless marble floor!
Santino began:
"Ah~ the famous undertaker has arrived."
Titus shook his head and said:
"No, no, Mr. Vigo's death was truly an accident."
Santino joked:
"I'm so glad you didn't bring that legendary coffin to see me!"
"They all say, 'If a funeral procession carries a coffin towards you, your death is imminent!'"
"—Because you can't predict what he'll take out of the coffin."
Titus's face darkened, because the second half of what Santino read was from "The Killer's Secret," and there were two more sentences to it:
"Perhaps it's an extra-large, exquisite cup!"
"Bro, can you imagine the feeling of The Undertaker thrusting into your head like a giant b-shaped object?"
Titus reminded:
"That's not a coffin box, it's a cello case, they just look alike."
"If Mr. Santino is really interested, I'll bring it to see you next time..."
Santino felt a chill run down his spine as an overly beautiful image flashed through his mind.
I don't think that's necessary—
"What do you think of this painting? I don't know much about art, but my father often collects them."
What kind of trick is Santino up to now?
Titus thought that some self-important old nobles always liked to use historical paintings with strong religious connotations to put others in their place.
Titus looked at the Horatii Brotherhood before him.
The artist is Jacques-Louis David of France. On the left side of the painting, the three Horatii brothers extend their arms forward to receive an iron sword.
In the center of the picture, the Roman king hands three iron swords to his three brothers;
At the very back of the scene are weeping wives and concubines.
Titus, recalling the dramatic backstory, suddenly felt a wave of dizziness wash over him.
When ancient Rome and its neighbor Abraham fought, they agreed to send their brave warriors in a three-on-three battle.
Rome sent the three Horatii brothers, and the scene freezes on the moment before the three brothers set off for the campaign.
The three main subjects, from left to right—brothers, father, and women—are separated by distinct brushstrokes.
This symbolizes order...
The truly remarkable part of the story is the woman on the far right who is crying.
Because Abelunga also sent three brothers, and Horus's three brothers and Abelunga's three brothers were actually related by marriage!
One of the Horatii brothers' sisters married one of the three brothers across the street, and one of the three brothers across the street then married one of the Horatii brothers...
Abraham probably did this on purpose, thinking he should just give up, but Rome didn't buy it.
Rome believed that the state was above all else, meaning that the Roman order was paramount!
Or is it the order of TM...?
Santino was at Tetus, where the order of the High Table was paramount.
He suspected that Jack had come for the Blood Pact, one of the oldest orders of the High Table.
Titus smiled and replied:
"The Horatii, written in 1784, five years before the French Revolution, marks the birth of Neoclassicism and the New Order."
"I believe that the old order will eventually be replaced by the new order, and the remnants of the old era are destined to have nowhere to escape."
"Are you right?"
