Chapter 24 Fruit Trees
Chapter 24 Fruit Trees
Daling Mountain.
Although it's called a mountain, it's actually one of a series of mountain ranges. Daling Village is built against the mountain, with this mountain right behind the village.
The mountain is steep, and the deeper you go, the less human habitation you see.
Northern Xinjiang is a place with mountains everywhere, lakes and marshes, and all sorts of strange things can be found on the mountains.
Ordinary people, unless there are special circumstances, will not venture deep into the mountains. If they need timber or similar materials, they will quickly obtain them from the low hills near the village and will not keep any more than necessary.
Lu Yunluo, however, was not afraid.
He walked briskly along the mountain path covered with fallen leaves, like a young wolf roaming through the forest.
The ten-year-old boy had already grown tall and slender, wearing a gray short brown coat and an iron sword at his waist. The scabbard was sewn by himself from animal hide, rough but sturdy.
The second layer of fetal breathing.
Having just broken through yesterday, the two spiritual wheels in my dantian are slowly rotating.
But Lu Yunluo was not satisfied.
He practiced the "Chasing Step Sword Technique" for over a month, but he still couldn't condense the sword's aura.
The master said that the sword's edge is the first threshold of swordsmanship, requiring the infusion of magical power into the weapon to condense it into a sharp aura.
Following his master's instructions, he infused his magic into the iron sword and could feel the magic flowing along the blade, but he just couldn't condense the shimmering white light that his master held in his hand.
The sword manual says that the way of the sword is the way of killing.
He pierced the wooden stakes one by one with his sword, but the stakes did not resist or bleed.
It's time to fight it out personally.
A mountain breeze blew by, and Lu Yunlu sniffed, catching a faint, fishy smell.
tiger.
A slight smile played on his lips as he vanished into the depths of the dense forest.
The tiger was hiding behind a bush; it was huge, with glossy fur and mottled stripes.
It was gnawing on a wild deer, making smacking sounds, and a fishy smell filled the air.
Lu Yunluo looked at it for a moment, then squatted down.
He was going to fight this beast.
The tiger sensed something, abruptly raised its head, and its amber vertical pupils locked onto the boy who emerged from the bushes.
The tiger paused for a moment, then let out a low roar.
Lu Yunlu walked towards the tiger.
The tiger's ears perked up, and the roar in its throat turned into an angry howl.
It put down the venison from its mouth, lowered its body, gripped the ground with its limbs, and stretched its tail straight.
Then it moved.
The tiger pounced as fast as lightning, bringing a stench as it lunged at Lu Yunluo, its gaping maw revealing gleaming white fangs.
Lu Yunluo's pupils contracted slightly, and she shifted her feet, suddenly turning to the side.
The tiger's front paws grazed his shoulder, leaving three shallow bloody scratches on his shoulder.
The pain didn't make him back down; instead, it made a glint of excitement flash in his eyes.
It is this feeling.
The feeling of being on the brink of life and death.
The tiger missed its target, its front paws touching the ground. It then swung its tail violently, its thick tail sweeping towards Lu Yunluo like an iron whip.
Lu Yunlu reached out with his left hand, grabbed the tiger's tail, and stabbed the tiger's hind leg with his sword.
The tiger let out a painful roar, its hind legs buckled, and its body tilted violently to the side.
Taking advantage of the situation, Lu Yunluo loosened her grip, flipped over and leaped onto the tiger's back, clamping her legs tightly around the tiger's waist and abdomen.
The tiger rolled around frantically, trying to throw the boy off its back.
Lu Yunluo was thrown around so hard he was dizzy and his back slammed into a tree trunk. He groaned and a trickle of blood escaped from the corner of his mouth, but he still didn't let go.
The moment the tiger rolled over again, Lu Yunlu plunged the iron sword deep into its throat.
"puff."
Blood gushed out, scalding hot blood splattering all over his face.
The tiger let out a short, mournful howl, its body convulsed violently a few times, then gradually went limp, lay motionless on the ground.
Lu Yunluo flipped off the tiger's back and sat down next to the tiger's carcass, panting heavily.
He had three bloody welts on his shoulder, his back was bruised and swollen, and the blood at the corner of his mouth was still wet.
He raised his hand, wiped the tiger blood from his face, and looked at the warm, scarlet patch on his palm. A slow smile spread across his lips.
happy.
I haven't felt this good in a long time.
That feeling of walking on the edge of life and death made his sword heart show signs of loosening.
If that sword strike had contained a sword aura, the tiger's throat would have been severed without any painful struggle.
Almost there.
Lu Yunluo took a deep breath, stood up, pulled the iron sword from the tiger's carcass, wiped the blood off the tiger skin, and tucked it back into her waistband.
He didn't dispose of the tiger's carcass; it was just an ordinary tiger without any cultivation, of little use to his master.
Lu Yunluo continued walking deeper into the mountains and forests.
After walking for about the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, his ears suddenly twitched.
A rustling sound came from ahead.
Lu Yunluo tiptoed and pushed aside a clump of bushes.
Two wolves.
One was large and the other small; the larger one was the mother wolf, and it was quite robust.
The smaller one is a cub, only half-grown, following behind its mother wolf, timidly looking around.
The mother wolf also saw Lu Yunluo.
It suddenly stopped, crouched low, bared its teeth, and protected its cubs behind it.
Lu Yunluo also stopped walking.
He looked at the mother wolf, his eyes dimming slightly.
He had seen the way a mother wolf protects her cubs before.
The white wolf protected him in the same way.
Lu Yunlu remained silent for a moment, without drawing his sword. He raised his right hand, joined his index and middle fingers together, and gently touched the ground in front of him.
A pale blue beam of light shot out from his fingertips, striking a nearby tree trunk with a muffled thud.
The mother wolf was startled, turned around abruptly, grabbed the cub by the scruff of its neck, and darted into the depths of the dense forest, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
As Lu Yunluo watched the direction in which they disappeared, the darkness between her brows gradually eased, replaced by a sense of calm.
He turned around and continued walking deeper into the mountains and forests.
Lu Yunluo's nose is much more sensitive than the average person's, even surpassing that of her senior sister Ahe, who practices alchemy.
As the sun began to set, his nose suddenly detected a strange smell.
Fruity aroma.
But it doesn't have the typical fragrance of wild fruits.
The aroma was strong and sweet, with a subtle, almost imperceptible, ethereal quality.
Lu Yunluo's ears perked up, and she moved even lighter, silently groping her way towards the direction from which the fragrance was coming.
After crossing a low ridge, the view suddenly opened up.
Below the ridge is a depression, and in the center of the depression grows a huge fruit tree.
The tree was at least two zhang tall, with a trunk so thick that it took two people to hug it. Its bark was an eerie pink color, and its branches stretched out in all directions, with lush, layered foliage.
The strangest thing is the fruit growing on the tree.
Each of those fruits was the size of a fist, pink all over, and shaped like a curled-up baby.
It has a head, limbs, and even the outlines of facial features can be vaguely seen.
Lu Yunlu sensed the inspiration coming from the Imperial Preceptor.
They retreated step by step.
Although he was ruthless, he was not foolish.
My master said that such spiritual treasures are often accompanied by demons, or even more dangerous creatures.
Lu Yunluo secretly memorized the location and prepared to leave.
Master is in seclusion breaking through to the fifth level of the Fetal Breathing stage. His immediate priority is to return to the village and discuss what to do with Senior Sister Xiaohe.
