Chapter 65 Dilapidated Factory
Chapter 65 Dilapidated Factory
A larger gray coyote suddenly howled and pounced on the driver's side window.
"Clang!"
The gray coyote's claws slammed into the glass, instantly widening the tiny cracks, with the sharp claws almost piercing through the gaps.
Jeremy was trembling with fear, and pleaded with Marcus in the back seat, his voice trembling with tears, "Marcus, help me! It's going to break the glass!"
Marcus, however, remained huddled in the corner, too afraid to even look up: "Don't call me! How can I help you with my hands tied?"
He was preoccupied with self-preservation and couldn't care less about others; he just hoped the coyotes wouldn't turn their attention to him.
The coyotes' attacks grew increasingly fierce, each pounce shaking the car windows.
Jeremy broke down crying, "Mommy! Help!"
"Keep a firm grip on the steering wheel."
Lin Simon gave a low shout, and just as the gray coyote leaped up again, its claws about to shatter the glass, he extended a stick from the back window and struck the coyote hard on the back of the head.
The blow instantly threw the gray coyote off balance, causing it to howl in pain and fall into the mud.
"I...I'm saved?"
Jeremy was in a daze, and just drove forward instinctively.
Lin Ximeng glanced at the pack of coyotes following closely outside the window: if this drags on, they'll be caught sooner or later.
"Are you sure coyotes eat their own kind?" Simon Lin suddenly turned to ask Marcus.
Marcus was taken aback, and after a moment said, "I heard it from someone. A pharmaceutical company person once came to our black penguin camp and mentioned in casual conversation that the coyotes here are so hungry that they're even eating their own kind."
Upon hearing this, a glint of determination flashed in Lin Ximeng's eyes: "Then let's give it a try."
As he spoke, Simon Lin reached out and pulled at the gold necklace around Marcus's neck.
Marcus hurriedly dodged, growling angrily, "We're at the brink of death, and you're still thinking about this? This damn chain is iron, not gold, it's worthless!"
"What we need is iron."
Lin Ximeng was too lazy to waste words with him. He grabbed the chain and pulled hard, snapping the knot with a "crack" and holding the chain in his hand.
Just then, a yellow coyote suddenly darted out from the side woods and, using its momentum, leaped towards the rear window of the car.

Lin Ximeng's eyes narrowed, and before the yellow coyote could crash into the glass, he suddenly rolled down the car window, his arm shot out like lightning, and the iron chain precisely wrapped around the yellow coyote's mouth, pulling it tightly.
The yellow-haired coyote was instantly subdued. It struggled frantically, kicking and thrashing its limbs. Its body slammed against the car door with a dull thud, but it could only let out muffled whimpers, unable to bite down with its sharp teeth.
Jeremy was so frightened that he jerked the steering wheel, and the car slid in an arc through the mud.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Lin Ximeng gripped the stick tightly and slammed it down hard on the back of the yellow-haired coyote, one blow after another, each one delivered with full force.
The coyote was quickly beaten until its skin was torn and blood mixed with rainwater, soaking its fur. Its limbs gradually went limp, leaving only weak twitches, and it was completely on the verge of death.
Marcus's eyes lit up, and he excitedly shouted, "Let's do it! We'll take them out one by one, and we'll be rid of them in no time!"
Lin Ximeng smiled, tossed the dying yellow coyote out of the car, and retracted the chain. His tone was sly: "No need for that. This one is enough."
Marcus was startled and turned to look behind him:
The dying yellow coyote fell to the ground. The coyotes behind it hesitated, their scarlet eyes fixed on the corpse of their kin, their whimpers growing ever deeper.
The next second, a thick, pungent smell of blood filled the air, instantly shattering the coyotes' hesitation.
Their eyes were filled with nothing but bloodlust as they swarmed toward their dying companion.
Sharp fangs ripped through the fur of their own kind, and muffled whimpers and fierce roars mingled together, echoing in the rainy night.
On the muddy ground, blood and flesh splattered instantly. Several coyotes tore at each other in a fight for food, their claws tearing at each other's fur. The fresh smell of blood grew stronger, pushing the chaos to its extreme.
The coyotes, who had been relentlessly pursuing their prey, came to a complete halt and engaged in a bloody and frenzied melee.
Jeremy saw what was happening in the rearview mirror and his hands trembled with fear, but he dared not slow down: "They...they're really crazy enough to eat their own kind!"
Simon glanced at the rearview mirror and said to Jeremy, "Let's get out of here quickly while we still can."
The red Kia sped through the mud, Jeremy had the accelerator floored.
As the rain gradually blurred the chaotic figures, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
Jerome leaned back in the passenger seat and couldn't help but shake his head: "It's so frustrating. If I were still in the army and had a rifle, I would definitely teach these beasts a lesson in the power of bullets."
Marcus scoffed from the back seat: "What's the use of a gun? Didn't you see how crazy those coyotes are? They can't feel pain at all."
Lin Ximeng then asked, "Coyotes can't be born like this. Where did these coyotes come from?"
Seeing the others remain silent, Jeremy couldn't help but speak up: "I... I overheard the pharmaceutical company people mentioning in their casual conversation that they regularly release drugs into this area, apparently for some kind of experiment. I don't know the specifics of the experiment or what drugs they use."
He spoke very quickly, as if he wanted to spill everything he knew.
Jeremy was saved by Simon Lin during his recent predicament, and he was still willing to tell Simon Lin this information.
But no sooner had he finished speaking than Jeremy caught a glimpse of Marcus glaring at him fiercely, his eyes full of warning:
It was clearly a warning to him not to say anything carelessly.
Jeremy's heart tightened, and he immediately shut his mouth, his previous enthusiasm vanishing completely.
"Pharmaceutical companies, what are you doing everywhere?"
Fortunately, Simon Lin had already heard the key information and was thinking that he would ask Gray later to see if there was any inside information.
The red Kia continued speeding along the bumpy road.
More than an hour later, the wheels finally left the mud and rolled onto a relatively smooth road, and the original bumpy feeling suddenly lessened.
In the rain not far away, the remnants of a dilapidated factory gradually came into view. The walls were mottled and eroded by wind and rain, and rusty pipes were everywhere, making it look desolate.
Jeremy's eyes suddenly lit up, and he pointed to an iron gate in the distance, shouting excitedly, "Look! Isn't that the United Machinery Plant? We've found it!"
Lin Ximeng looked up and saw the iron gate standing crookedly at the end of the road. The paint on the metal door panel had long since peeled off, but the faded lettering branded on it was still clearly visible: "Slos United Machinery Manufacturing Plant".
Marcus curled his lip in the back seat, his tone still disdainful: "Turns out it's this lousy place. We Black Penguins never come here."
