Chapter 328 Return to Dark Star
Chapter 328 Return to Dark Star
"Buzz!"
A spatial ripple suddenly appeared in the starry sky, and the Sword of Judgment officially stepped into the Shadow Star System, returning to its home base.
As the massive ship slowly entered the star system, after tens of thousands of years, Glenn finally returned to the starry sky where he had once had nothing.
"Boss! We've arrived in the Shadow System!"
The timely reminder from Number One.
"The Shadow Star System? I never thought I'd have my own star system!"
Glenn muttered absentmindedly.
When I first arrived here, this place was a life-free forbidden zone, devoid of any signs of life, and its star system was nothing more than a meaningless string of numerical code.
Unexpectedly, tens of thousands of years later, this place has undergone earth-shattering changes.
Was all of this because of my arrival?
Lost in thought, Glenn said:
"Tell the others! We're home."
"Ok!"
Number One responded and began sending messages to Lucia and the others.
Before long, the Shadow Knights began to gaze expectantly at the starry sky, and soon they were home.
Although they had only been away for a few years, amazingly, they missed the home they had built with their own hands.
From the moment Glenn awakened them from their hundreds of thousands of years of slumber, this was their new home, even though it was initially a scene of utter devastation.
As they thought about it, they couldn't help but miss the Hanging Gardens that existed in the same era as them.
Many years ago, the Hanging Gardens ceased operation and landed on the Dark Star, becoming the headquarters of the Dark Star Management Committee.
That was the very beginning of civilization! Everything on Dark Star revolved around the Hanging Gardens.
Every time they return from a mission, they visit the Sky Garden together to reminisce about the past.
This time was no different; they each made up their minds to go once when they had some free time, and it wouldn't take long.
The blazing star is burning slowly; it has never changed, just as it did when Glenn came here tens of thousands of years ago, except that it has consumed very little energy.
For something with such a long history, this is nothing, not even a drop in the ocean.
The third planet orbiting it is no longer the dark and gloomy place it once was.
It is now called Dark Star. The planet has an atmosphere on its surface, and its interior is dotted with lights, all of which are symbols of civilization.
Beyond its orbit, the massive satellite has transformed into a steel behemoth, possessing the ability to roam the stars independently.
Countless warships were lined up around it, ready to set sail.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the galaxy, the Sword of Judgment is heading this way.
The constantly shimmering golden patterns on them signify its nobility; the true master of Dark Star, the Shadow King, is inscribed there.
"boom!"
Before long, the massive body of the Sword of Judgment came into view.
Everyone looked excited because their boss was sitting up there.
The massive hatch of the Starship slowly opened, and the Sword of Judgment slowly entered. This was its exclusive docking platform; the entire Starship was merely an auxiliary facility of the Sword of Judgment.
The Sword Awaiting Judgment successfully docked, and its massive, fixed arms slowly supported its body.
Then countless machines began to operate, to give the Sword of Judgment a major check-up, even though it had a self-checking system.
"Buzz!"
As the protective shield opened, Glenn led the knights off the Sword of Judgment.
Meanwhile, a number of people were already waiting at the giant helipad, with Bianca, the Dark Star's Grand Administrator, at the head of the group.
The rest of the group consisted of the other half of the Shadow Knights. At this moment, they had lost their playful and roguish air and were all looking solemnly at the figure that was slowly walking down.
"Snapped!"
With a crisp sound of footsteps landing, Bianca was the first to pound her chest and bow in greeting:
"Boss! Welcome home."
The other Shadow Knights echoed this with serious expressions:
"Welcome home, boss."
Looking at them, Glenn smiled and said:
"Thank you for your hard work. Bianca, come with me for a moment. The rest of you can leave now. You have one day. We'll be setting off after that."
Upon hearing this, the others were slightly taken aback. Before they could react, the Shadow Knights behind Glenn scattered in all directions, going about their business as usual, completely ignoring the fact that their boss, Glenn, was also present.
Upon seeing this, everyone relaxed and began chatting with their companions whom they hadn't seen for years.
Lamia, in particular, ran up to Luna and complained about Roland. Roland tried his best to explain, and the scene became lively.
They will gather on time a day later.
Glenn walked along, glancing at the blonde, blue-eyed beauty beside him, and said with a smile:
"It seems you've had a tough time lately."
Bianca knew her boss's words had a hidden meaning, so she shrugged helplessly and said:
"Only you, boss, can keep those guys in check. They're such a handful."
Hearing her playful complaint, Glenn couldn't help but laugh.
"Hahaha! They may be a bit noisy, but isn't that exactly what you wanted? Over time, even tranquility becomes numbing,"
Bianca paused for a moment after hearing this, then smiled and said no more.
The two chatted as they walked, with Glenn not directly asking how the preparations were going, and Bianca not giving any special reports either. It was as if they were just having a casual conversation, a testament to their trust.
Through Bianca's conversation, Glenn gained a general understanding of the current situation on Dark Star, which he found quite satisfactory.
However, he also had no intention of interfering with Dark Star; he was not interested in it.
Letting them operate on their own is in line with the laws of civilized development; only someone with a screw loose would meddle in such trivial matters.
If it weren't for the fact that Number One and his crew were bored and created this Dark Star thing, Glenn wouldn't have paid any attention to it for even a moment!
Just like on Earth, he wouldn't be the first to expose himself unless it was necessary for war. After all, Earth is his homeland, and he can't let other civilizations invade it.
Sure enough! As soon as the war ended, he resigned from his important post and left without a second thought.
For him, managing a civilization was a very troublesome thing, and he was the kind of person who hated trouble the most.
Just like back then, if it weren't for Keisha and the others forcing him, Glenn wouldn't have wanted to be this Shadow King. Wouldn't it have been better to live a carefree life?
For example, right now, if it weren't for those old guys like Zilean constantly brainwashing him, Glenn wouldn't bother challenging the Void at all!
In fact, if they hadn't said that void creatures would invade this universe and try to devour it, thus interfering with Glenn's ideal of a leisurely life, Glenn wouldn't have bothered doing such a thankless and tedious task.
He was forced into it; he had no choice. Who told him to be forced to travel through time?
He didn't want to either! But since fate had chosen him, he had no choice but to bite the bullet and go for it.
There's a saying that goes something like this: Since you can't resist it, learn to enjoy it.
Moreover, with a beautiful woman by your side, life must be even more interesting!
