Chapter 61: The Extinction of the Frederick Family
Chapter 61: The Extinction of the Frederick Family
Time ticked by, and Lee Ethan, perched high above the entire film set, remained motionless like a hunter in the night.
Judging from the set construction, it's clear that they're filming a nighttime gunfight scene; if it were filmed indoors, it would be even more complicated.
Two hours passed, and Lee Ethan finally spotted one of his targets. He aimed his scope and saw Damian Frederick, who was saying goodbye to a woman before driving away.
This is the moment.
"Bang"
Gunshots rang out, too loud to be masked by a silencer. Damian, who hadn't even had time to get into the car, was shot in the head. Blood splattered all around, and no one saw his body lying on the ground.
Lee Ethan wasn't in a hurry to leave. He first picked up the bullet casings, and even had the leisure to make a cup of solid coffee to perk himself up. He figured the second target would come soon.
After more than ten minutes, someone finally discovered the body. Screams instantly filled the cutting room. Many staff members ran over at the sound and were shocked by the gruesome sight of the corpse.
Call the police if you need to, and call an ambulance if you need to.
The set security quickly cordoned off the body, and the set manager looked extremely grim. They charge $8 a day to rent the place; it's practically a goose that lays golden eggs.
Nowadays, when a producer is shot and killed, there will definitely be questions about the security and safety of the project, which will lower the reputation and lead to a decline in business.
Actually, there was someone worse off than the set manager: Jeremy Jonathan, who was filming at the time. He couldn't have imagined that just a few dozen minutes later, his benefactor would run into trouble, and how he would explain it to the Frederick family.
"Damn it, damn it, why did this have to happen? Damn it, damn it."
Jeremy's impotent rage was stopped by the police who had just arrived.
"Sir, please calm down."
"How can I stay calm? My movie is over, my..."
Before Jeremy Jonathan could finish speaking, another bullet blew him out of the head, splattering blood everywhere. This time, everyone knew what kind of gun it was.
"Sniper, watch out."
The crowd that had been discussing the matter just moments before scattered and fled in an instant. Even the police dared not show themselves, holding their pistols and aiming at something unknown, as it was pitch black outside.
Nicole Watts, who played the lead supporting role, was also frightened and hid away. She never expected that her first time playing the lead supporting role in a big production would end in such misfortune.
This experience was like being bullied in the back alley of a convenience store years ago; I felt cold all over and was filled with negative emotions, and it was that man who saved me.
Ethan
"it's over"
Ethan Lee simply puts the sniper rifle back into his spatial storage and takes the coffee cup away.
He knew this would cause a huge uproar, but he couldn't rest easy until his enemy was dead. Only one more enemy remained.
Tonight is destined to be a sleepless night for Hollywood. Shootings and directors dying are not uncommon, but being shot in the head with a sniper rifle on set is a first.
.
At Frederick's mansion, Eric Frederick is awakened from his sleep by the butler.
"Kata, what's up?"
"Master, the young master is dead. He was shot by a sniper rifle."
"..."
The sound of glasses hitting the ground rang out, and Eric asked with trembling hands.
"What...what did you say?"
"The police just contacted me, claiming that the young master was shot and killed in Hollywood, and the other victim was Jeremy Jonathan."
As soon as he finished speaking, Eric Frederick clutched his heart, his face contorted in pain. He only felt a little better after the butler brought the medicine.
"Who did this?"
"The police are investigating."
"Go, do everything you can to find the murderer. I want to tear that bastard to pieces."
Eric Frederick went from calm to roaring, and when he calmed down a bit, he looked like he had lost all his energy and looked more than ten years older.
"My son and my daughter are gone. I have no descendants. God, why have you done this to me? I am a devout believer."
.
The next morning, when Li Yisen opened his eyes, he immediately found a pair of beautiful eyes staring at him; it was Freya, who was sleeping next to him.
"Am I drooling?"
"No, I'm just curious why you're so strong, you don't seem like it."
Li Yisen didn't know what the other person was referring to, but he was really annoyed to be called a "little guy," even though the person claimed to be almost 30 years old.
Li Yisen got up and pinned Freya down, looking down at her charming face. Under the covers were a pair of restless hands.
"You'll know once you try it again, big sister."
Her voice was like heavenly music, and sweat dampened the ends of her hair.
The sound of the shower continued, and the steam in the bathroom reflected her curvaceous figure and the approaching muscular silhouette.
Just as Ethan was preparing breakfast, there was a knock on the door. When he opened it, he saw two men in suits.
"Mr. Li, we are detectives from the Los Angeles Criminal Investigation Department. We have something we'd like to ask you."
Lee Ethan nodded and let the group in, while stopping Freya, who was only wearing a shirt and showing off her long, white legs, from coming out.
"May I ask what's wrong?"
"Jeremy Jonathan is dead. He was killed by a sniper rifle."
Lee Ethan instantly showed a look of shock, demonstrating his impressive acting skills.
"This is so surprising."
"As a police officer, you should know why we're asking you: Where were you last night?"
"I had a wonderful night with Freya in the apartment."
Li Yisen pointed to the female doctor who had put her clothes back on; her attire was still striking, and her smile was very friendly.
"Miss Larson, were you with Mr. Li last night?"
"They were all here last night."
After confirming Freya's identity, the two police officers did not refute it. They checked the apartment's surveillance footage and found that Ethan Lee had not left the room. Both people and objects could serve as alibis.
The two detectives left quickly, and Freya kissed Ethan on the cheek before leaving. The two did not exchange contact information at all, as if they could easily distinguish between "surname" and "commitment".
Li Yisen was looking for cover and naturally didn't want any complications. As a doctor, he was more likely than ordinary people to discover that he had been drugged last night.
But Freya left without a word, leaving someone feeling both relieved and disappointed. Was she not satisfied with his performance that day? His stamina was clearly far beyond that of ordinary humans.
Li Yisen found out the reason in less than a day, and he was still completely bewildered.
.
As night fell, in a restaurant, Lee Ethan stared blankly at the two women across from him with similar hair colors. One was Kaia Anderson, who had asked him to treat her to dinner as promised, and the other was Freya Larson, whom he had parted ways with that morning.
Kaia said calmly.
"Freya Larson, my cousin."
"Hello Ethan, I've heard Kaya talk about you a lot, and I've been wanting to get to know you for a long time."
"Cousin? Cough cough cough."
Li Yisen took a sip of water and coughed. He glanced at the smiling Freya and now everything made sense. It turned out to be his cousin. No wonder she seemed to understand him so well last night. He had thought she was just observant and perceptive.
Freya smiled sweetly.
"From now on, you can call me cousin like Kaia does. After all, I'm five years older than you and I'm already past my prime."
Kaia interrupted.
"Freya, don't talk nonsense."
"Little Kaya, you're so boring. Your best friend is my best friend, isn't that right, Ethan?"
For a moment, Li Yisen didn't know what to say. He felt a little flustered in this situation. The next second, he felt a foot covered in stockings touch him, and he moved upwards until he was grabbed by someone.
Don't make trouble.
Freya supported her chin with both hands on the table, maintaining this difficult pose.
Kaia handed a name ticket to Ethan Lee.
"This is the business card of the Los Angeles Lake District Chief. He is a friend of my father. You can contact him if you encounter any trouble."
Li Yisen took the business card and nodded, but his expression changed slightly the next second because the black-stockinged toes were caught.
