Chapter 20 The Unspeakable Secret
Chapter 20 The Unspeakable Secret
Sana Minatozaki has been at the restaurant for breakfast for ten minutes now, and she hasn't been able to sit still for a single moment.
It was just a simple buffet meal, but she single-handedly turned it into a chaotic mess.
He grabbed a plate of grilled sausages, sat down, and barely ate a couple of bites before running over to get a drink. After drinking half a glass, he muttered that he wanted to get some dessert.
Mina couldn't help but think that if she were to time this with a watch, the total time this woman's butt was on the bench would probably be less than a minute.
Finally, after Sana Minatozaki brought over another plate with a small dish of side dishes, Mina MAI couldn't help but speak up:
"You've been acting strange ever since you came in. What's wrong?"
Sana Minato stopped what she was doing. After thinking it over and over again, she finally had no choice but to meet the gaze that was staring straight at her.
It's said that people do a lot of meaningless little things when they're embarrassed, but they do the same when they're excited.
Sana Minatosaki couldn't figure out what her reason was; perhaps she was more embarrassed, but even if there was only a little bit of excitement, it would still be strange.
Jung Do-hoon was just trying to help her out to prevent her from bumping into the hotel staff and food carts, but she just threw herself into his arms and even seemed to enjoy it by rubbing her face against his chest muscles.
Oh dear!
But I must say, he's in really good shape, and he feels great to the touch.
"Why aren't you saying anything?" Mina asked, holding her coffee cup and slowly sipping it.
"It's nothing, it's just..." Sana Minatozaki pouted, deciding to swallow the matter—
How could I possibly say something like that? Not even to Mina, with whom I've had a long-standing relationship, I was too ashamed to bring it up.
Then, Sana Minatozaki changed the subject and questioned Mina Mōi, "Didn't you say you'd come to my room to have breakfast together? Why did you come down here alone?"
"Because I ran into Jeong Do-hoon," Mina replied casually.
It's such a pity; she thought she could get some information out of Zheng Daoxun while eating breakfast.
When Mina made a bet with Sana Minatozaki before, Mina once said that Jung Do-hoon's special trip to Indonesia might not have been just for work, but perhaps for someone else.
Looking back now, Mina also feels that it was somewhat absurd. She actually thought that Jung Do-hoon treated her differently from everyone else just because he chatted with her a few extra minutes outside the convenience store.
He was so respectful of boundaries in front of Kim Da-hyun and Seol-yoon, yet he revealed a cunning and mischievous side to me.
Even more absurdly, she actually felt the urge to verify this idea this morning.
This absolutely cannot be told to Sana Minatozaki, otherwise Sana Minatozaki will definitely laugh at her for being too trusting.
That's why Mina deliberately brought up Jung Do-hoon. Sana Minatozaki has an extraordinary passion for this name; she was the one who talked about it the most last night.
She wanted to see how Sana Minatozaki would react to the name—and then judge whether her absurd idea had any basis in reality.
If Sana Minatozaki reacts strongly, then it means that Mina's curiosity is entirely understandable.
Sure enough, a look of surprise flashed across the woman's face.
"It's normal to run into him, isn't it? After all, he lives next door to me, so we came down for breakfast together. You... do you think I'm being fickle because of a pretty face?" Mina narrowed her eyes, her tone calm but slightly raised.
"I'm not a child anymore, how could I be so childish?" Minatozaki Sana shook her head, but it was impossible for her not to mind.
At this moment, she couldn't figure out whether she minded Mina having breakfast with Jung Do-hoon, or Jung Do-hoon having breakfast with Mina.
Although it's just a matter of changing the subject and object, the meaning is vastly different.
One is blinded by lust and forgets loyalty, the other is jealous.
Why would Sana Minatozaki be jealous? In the end, she and Jung Do-hoon were just strangers who met by chance.
"But your face is clearly showing that you're bothered." — Mina was still provoking her.
"Ha, I do mind, okay? I like him because he's handsome, has a great physique, and is a diplomat." Sana Minatozaki replied nonchalantly with a hint of impatience, thinking she had glossed over the matter with a joke.
Whether Mina Minatozaki was joking or genuinely expressing her feelings, Mina Minatozaki was blinded by her own emotions, while she, as an outsider, had a clearer perspective.
Given Mina's personality, she wouldn't bother with such things. Sana can like whoever she wants; everyone is an adult, so why should she interfere with other people's thoughts?
Mina only needs to convince herself that if Sana Minatozaki is paying attention to Jung Do-hoon, then her curiosity is perfectly reasonable. There's nothing shameful about being curious about a man who is outstanding in both appearance and talent.
Thinking she was much more composed, Mina couldn't resist adding insult to injury: "But you're Japanese, and he's a diplomat. It's unlikely that the two of you will get along."
She enjoyed the feeling of regaining control of the situation—her curiosity about Jung Do-hoon was justified, and her conversation with Minatozaki Sana was proceeding exactly as she had envisioned.
This is probably the feeling of being able to watch the fire from the sidelines with ease.
But before she could finish speaking, Sana Minatozaki blinked, looking puzzled, and suddenly asked, "But Mina, just because you like someone doesn't mean you have to be together, right? How come you're already thinking about marriage?"
"Achoo..." After returning to his room, Jung Do-hoon immediately began holding his department's weekly meeting to assign tasks.
First, we must expedite the drafting of a "Regulations for the Safety Management of Overseas Cultural Activities." With the passport crisis currently unfolding in Indonesia, Zheng Daoxun can seize the opportunity to use this regulation as a trump card in his response to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Secondly, he shared his annotations on the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's initial draft of the Expo promotional video with everyone, requesting that they first draft a promotional plan based on his ideas, with the theme of "embracing the world and looking towards the future," covering areas such as Korean technology, industry, economy, environmental protection, and traditional culture.
However, the weekly meeting did not go smoothly. He had only said a few words when his nose started to itch. Zheng Daoxun persevered and finished the entire meeting before finally sneezing.
Strange, who is talking about me? Could it be Ya-Hsien?
Jung Do-hoon had promised his sister that he would fly back to Seoul on Sunday, but he has now delayed until Tuesday.
Speaking of sibling relationship, Jung Do-hoon was also a little puzzled. When Ya-hsien was young, Jung Do-hoon went abroad to study. After graduating, he immediately joined the army, and after his discharge, he was assigned to New York.
It could be said that he almost missed the entire process of Ya Xian growing from a little kid into a beautiful young woman, and the foundation of the siblings' relationship was not very deep.
Ya-Hsien is probably just naturally sharp-tongued; she likes to ramble on about her oppa all the time.
What Zheng Daoxun didn't know was that Ya Xian wasn't the only one talking about him at that moment.
Two women, each keeping their thoughts to themselves and clearly sensing that the other was hiding something from them, finished their breakfast in a quiet yet eerie atmosphere.
Oh, and his name was occasionally mentioned in an unfriendly mahjong game as well.
