The Tokusatsu Era: Starting with Orphnoch

Chapter 34 Change

Chapter 34 Change

Xiao Shi felt wronged and helpless as he listened to Guan Hai's questioning.

He slowly lowered his head, tears welling up in his eyes, but finally couldn't help but suddenly raise his head, his eyes filled with hot tears, and shouted at Guan Hai: "I also yearn to improve, I also dream of winning an award in the national guitar competition and surpassing you!"

But the reality is that no matter how hard I try, I can't achieve this goal.

I'm training hard day and night, but why am I always lagging behind others?

Everyone regards me as a musical genius after you, and firmly believes that I can win the championship on my first competition, just like you.

But right now, I simply don't have the skill! Even if I were to participate in the national guitar competition now, I'm destined to be eliminated!

After shouting these words at the top of his lungs, Xiao Shi turned around and ran out of the teaching building.

His steps were hurried and frantic, as if he wanted to escape this suffocating place.

Guan Hai was stunned by Xiao Shi's words and stood there dumbfounded.

He never realized that Xiao Shi had been carrying such heavy pressure, and part of that pressure actually came from himself.

He was filled with regret, hating himself for not realizing this sooner.

By the time Guan Hai came to his senses, Xiao Shi had already run quite far away.

He was extremely anxious and shouted loudly, "Xiao Shi, don't run around, it's dangerous!" Then, he followed closely behind Xiao Shi and tried his best to catch up.

The two ran out of the school gate one after the other. On the way, Guan Hai brushed past Zeng Qixia, who was searching around the campus. Zeng Qixia seemed to sense something and looked at Guan Hai's back.

She frowned slightly, seemingly puzzled, and stopped, staring at the direction Guan Hai had left in for a long while.

But soon, she shook her head, dismissed the thought from her mind, and turned to continue walking into the campus.

Guan Hai also felt a gaze fixed on him for a while, but he didn't pay much attention to it because his mind was focused on Xiao Shi.

He knew that time was of the essence and he had to find Xiao Shi as soon as possible to ensure his safety.

When Guan Hai chased Xiao Shi to a beach park near the sea, he suddenly realized that Xiao Shi's figure had disappeared from sight.

He searched anxiously everywhere, his heart filled with worry and unease.

This beach park is quite large, and there are some trees and bushes around it, so it's not easy to find someone.

Time passed by, and after about fifteen minutes, Guan Hai finally found the guitar sound in the park. It came from a secluded corner, carrying a faint sadness. Guan Hai was overjoyed and quickly walked in the direction of the sound.

He walked carefully, afraid of disturbing the person who was playing the instrument.

Finally, he reached the end of the road, where a towering reef appeared before him.

On one of the rocks sat a figure—it was Xiao Shi.

Guan Hai stood quietly beside Xiao Shi, without making a sound, simply listening to his playing.

The music flowed like water, as if telling endless stories.

However, just as the performance reached its climax, Xiaoshi's hands suddenly trembled, and the strings began to play out of tune.

Xiao Shi's face showed pain and anger. He slapped his right hand hard, then stood up and roared at the sea, "Ah! Why!" The roar seemed to release all his resentment and helplessness.

After the roar, Xiao Shi seemed to have exhausted all his strength and collapsed weakly onto the reef, covering his head with his hands and remaining motionless.

Guan Hai knew it was his turn, so he walked over and sat down next to Xiao Shi. His gaze was deep, as if it contained endless stories. He quietly stared at the sea, feeling the gentle sea breeze caressing his cheeks.

After a while, he turned his head, looked at Xiaoshi, and said softly, "Xiaoshi, you have actually done a very good job, even better than I was back then."

However, what you currently lack is merely an awareness of your own abilities and a tiny bit of self-confidence.

Xiao Shi stared wide-eyed at Guan Hai in disbelief.

He had never imagined Guan Hai would speak of him like that, and a warm feeling welled up inside him. But he still asked with some doubt, "Really? But..."

Guan Hai interrupted Xiao Shi with a smile, then extended his right hand. His eyes were firm, as if he were telling Xiao Shi an important secret.

"Xiao Shi, do you know what? Actually, all my talk about going out to relax these past few days was a lie."

The real truth is, I was in a serious car accident, and my right hand was severely injured in the accident. Doctors have made it clear that it is almost impossible for it to fully recover.

Shock appeared on Xiao Shi's face. He opened his mouth wide, but didn't know how to respond.

He never imagined that Guan Hai would go through such a difficult time.

Guan Hai continued, "During those painful days, I felt like I had become a complete useless person."

Because I can no longer play the guitar, which was once a part of my life and the thing I loved most.

I felt like I had lost my way in life and had fallen into deep despair.

Xiao Shi's eyes welled up with tears. He could feel the pain and struggle deep in Guan Hai's heart. He reached out and gently grasped Guan Hai's right hand.

"Fortunately, with the support and encouragement of my family and teachers, I managed to pull through. So, Xiaoshi, you must know that every time you play, you are playing for yourself."

"So, Xiaoshi, don't give up on the music you love so easily because of what others say!"

Believe in your talent and potential. No matter how great the setbacks, as long as you persevere, you will definitely be able to overcome them. Your future is full of infinite possibilities, as long as you are willing to pursue them.

Xiao Shi nodded vigorously upon hearing this, a determined flame burning in his eyes.

He resolved to no longer fear failure, but to forge ahead, even if the outcome was not as he wished, at least he had pursued his dream.

After making up her mind, Xiao Shi looked at Guan Hai with a firm gaze and said earnestly, "Brother Guan Hai, don't worry, I understand what I should do and I know how to do it!"

Guan Hai nodded with satisfaction, patted Xiao Shi's head, and said with emotion, "The fact that you can think like this shows that you are starting to grow up. You must participate in this competition. Even if you don't achieve good results, it doesn't matter. Just consider it as gaining experience." He encouraged Xiao Shi with a smile.

After saying that, Guan Hai stood up, dusted himself off, and said to Xiao Shi, "Let's go see the teacher. I also need to report the situation to the teacher." Then, he strode towards the outer perimeter.

Xiao Shi followed behind, his heart filled with anticipation and determination, as they walked together, ready to embrace new challenges and growth.
