Chapter 69 The Immortal Buddha's Throne
After receiving the goddess's reply, the White Crane Fairy closed the golden box containing the relic and returned it to Yun Chonghua.
The Empress, resting her head on her arm, pondered, "Since His Majesty has bestowed upon you the golden armor and Buddha has granted you relics, these are both immense favors. I cannot treat Chonghua unfairly. But what should I reward you with? I am truly troubled."
Yun Chonghua bowed and said, "Your Majesty need not worry. Your Majesty has always treated Xiaolong well and has bestowed many favors upon him in the past. Xiaolong has always cherished the favors Your Majesty has shown him. Now that His Majesty has already bestowed upon him the golden armor, Your Majesty need not grant him any further rewards."
The Empress shook her head and said, "You have upheld the majesty of the Heavenly Laws, so you should still be rewarded. Only by clearly distinguishing between rewards and punishments can we win the hearts of the people."
Seeing that the Empress was somewhat hesitant, Yun Chonghua said, "In that case, please grant me another imperial meal and a bottle of imperial wine. The food in the mortal realm is truly inferior to that in the celestial realm."
The Empress laughed upon hearing this, "Hehe, you glutton. Very well! Baihe, go and inform the kitchen to prepare a table of imperial food for Chonghua, and also fetch him two bottles of fine wine."
Bai He said "Yes" and then led Yun Chonghua away from the Empress's palace to the side hall they had previously visited.
After settling Yun Chonghua in, the White Crane Fairy went to prepare a meal for him.
A moment later, the White Crane Fairy returned slowly, carrying a food box and holding imperial wine.

"One of its greatest uses is that these Buddha relics represent the attainment of Buddhahood. If one day you see through the illusions of the world and wish to convert to Western Buddhism, this can grant you an immortal golden body and Buddhahood."
Hearing this, Yun Chonghua shook his head and said, "Forget it. Once you become a Buddha, you will be free from desires. I have many worldly thoughts. I still want to get married, have children, and live a carefree life. I'd rather not 'defile' the Western Paradise. Besides, the food in the Western Paradise is not as good as our Heavenly Court's. I once had a vegetarian meal at the Bodhisattva's in the South Sea. Although it wasn't bad, it always felt bland and tasteless. It was far less flavorful than our Heavenly Court's food. It also lacked the warmth and flavor of human life."
The White Crane Fairy laughed and said, "Hehe, only you could say something like that. Do you know how many people crave the immortal Buddha's position but cannot attain it? Even the Golden Cicada and the Bell-Stopping Boy, who have cultivated by the side of the two Buddhas for many years, have not yet obtained this opportunity. If such a blessing were given to others, they would probably be lamenting the good fortune they have accumulated over several lifetimes. Your act of getting a good deal and then acting innocent is probably going to infuriate many people."
Looking at the relic in his hand, Yun Chonghua said, "Sister, besides exchanging it for that golden Buddha statue, what else can this thing be used for? I have no interest in that golden Buddha statue. If it doesn't have any other mysteries, it can only be used as a luminous pearl."
After hearing this, the White Crane Fairy shook her head and said, "Don't speak nonsense. This golden Buddha relic is the manifestation of a Buddha who has attained great enlightenment and achieved perfect Buddhahood, possessing extremely high merit. He accumulated countless merits in his lifetime to achieve this perfect golden body. We should still show some respect to highly virtuous monks who have attained enlightenment."

Just from the Buddhist light emanating from this relic, ordinary little spirits and monsters who cultivate nearby, receiving the myriad merits of this treasure, can greatly increase their cultivation speed, and may even undergo a complete transformation. Take you for example, if you had cultivated under the radiance of this Buddhist treasure, you could not only have transformed into a dragon in a hundred years, but could even have cultivated into human form and achieved considerable magical power. I don't know if the Dragon King of the East Sea could defeat you, but those two fishermen under Wang Lingguan would definitely be no match for you."

Upon hearing this, the White Crane Fairy laughed and said, "You are a celestial immortal who has received the Heavenly Ordination. Your body is surrounded by celestial energy. Not to mention vengeful ghosts and evil spirits, even the Ten Kings of Hell would have to address you as 'Divine Lord' upon seeing you. What evil spirit has the ability to get close to you?"
Yun Chonghua said, "That's true. So, this supernatural power is of no use to me. Does this treasure have any other uses?"
After thinking for a moment, Fairy White Crane said, "As for other uses, they can only affect you. For example, it can calm your mind and eliminate distracting thoughts. If you take it into the Heavenly Book Pavilion to cultivate the 'Wish-Fulfilling Treasure Book' without being disturbed by distracting thoughts, it might even allow you to learn more supernatural abilities."
