Chapter 86 Final 2
Chapter 86 Final 2
As soon as the match began, all the spectators watching were stunned by Heledi's series of powerful and effective attack spells.
The magical attacks kicked up a cloud of dust on the arena, and the white light emitted by the attacks made it even harder to see what was happening on the arena.
When Heledi temporarily paused her magical attacks and the white light and dust dissipated, everyone thought that Heledi would stand there gracefully and properly as she had in the previous matches, while her opponent would once again kneel on the ground, looking utterly pathetic.
But no—Helledy's opponent, a dark gray-haired boy, was sitting with his hands on his knees, bent over, and panting heavily.
The audience was silent for a moment, then erupted in cheers and boos.
People saw the dark gray-haired boy seem to make a move; he took a step back, but they didn't know what he was going to do.
However, Heledi did not give the boy that chance. Heledi unleashed a magical attack that was more powerful than the previous ones, using more magic power. Heledi even added an acceleration spell to it.
"Is this magical attack really at the level we can unleash?" someone in the audience muttered quietly.
"Of course not, otherwise how could he have become a rising star in our school?" someone answered the question from the previous person.
"But this magic is too powerful. It feels like it's going to kill the opponent."
"Probably not? Wasn't magic for killing banned a long time ago? At most, it'll just cripple them."
Listening to the conversation of the audience around her, Evangeline's heart felt like it was being tightly gripped. She stared at the white light, which was so dazzling that it brought tears to her eyes, but she still dared not look away.
Evangeline instinctively clutched the silver cross necklace on her chest.
People saw the magical attack engulf the dark gray-haired boy, and the white light shone on a wider area with greater intensity. This time, everyone on the field closed their eyes in unison—they would go blind if they looked any longer.
When the white light dissipated, all that remained was a large patch of dust that hadn't yet settled on the ground. However, some with good eyesight could already see that the area in the center of the arena where Heledi's magical attack had passed had vanished, leaving behind a huge, deep crater in the ground.
Everyone thought Borist was finished, even Heledi thought so.
Heledi looked across the ring—though the dust hadn't settled yet, he was convinced Borist was crippled.
Now no one will steal my thunder anymore, Heledi thought happily.
But soon, Heledi's good mood vanished.
As the dust gradually settled, a barrier appeared, and within the barrier stood a figure.
The figure was holding a wand and chanting a spell that Heledi had never heard of.
“Merciful and benevolent Mother Earth,” Borist whispered the incantation. The incantation that Lu Renkui had been unable to understand before suddenly became so simple and clear. “Your ignorant child calls upon you here, hoping that you will lend me some of your power to help me overcome this difficulty.”
As Borist chanted, magic of various colors gathered at the tip of Borist's wand.
The magic transformed into a multicolored ball of light at the tip of Borest's wand, and then a gust of wind blew, carrying all the dust from Borest's side to Heledi's side.
Heledi's mind was now filled with a mix of negative emotions. He waved his wand, a wind blade pushed away all the dust, and he chanted a spell, summoning a large thundercloud.
Along with the thunderclouds came a strong wind that swept up many fallen leaves.
Despite the protective shields, the hair of the people in the stands was being blown around by the strong wind.
Olivia struggled to brush her wind-blown hair aside and looked at Borist, who stood there motionless.
"Brother is amazing!" Olivia exclaimed. "He made a rainbow-colored ball!"
"Help me!" Carola cried out as she held the cat. Because she was holding the cat, she couldn't spare a hand to brush her hair. "I also want to see the rainbow-colored orb that my brother releases."
Evangeline breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Borist take the attack and create a barrier to protect herself. But Heledi's subsequent summoning of thunderclouds made her heart clench again.
On the ring, Borist removed the barrier, letting his hair fly in the wind and his clothes flutter loudly.
Looking at the expressionless Borist across from her, Heledi felt that immense sense of defeat, like something out of a dream from a past life, surge back like a tidal wave.
"It's alright, it's okay!" Heledi gritted her teeth. This coward has been on the defensive since the start of the match, hasn't he? Although I've never seen the spell he was chanting before, so what? I have an ancient spellbook in my hand, and in that ancient spellbook are the most powerful spells in the world.
"Why?" Borest suddenly asked.
"What?" Heledi was stunned.
“You look like you want to kill me,” Borest said expressionlessly.
“You don’t need to know the reason.” Heledi said through gritted teeth, her eyes blazing with boundless hatred.
