Chapter 316 Another Clash, Spatial Rift
Chapter 316 Another Clash, Spatial Rift
Amidst the howling wind, Chu Lengyu and Ji Ying once again faced each other from afar.
Enemies are extremely jealous when they meet.
Their gazes met in the air, like two sharp swords, each wanting to pierce the other's chest.
Chu Lengyu was dressed in white, pure as snow, her clothes fluttering gently in the wind, like a fairy descending from the heavens to the mortal world.
However, her cold, frost-like gaze inspired awe and made people afraid to look directly at her.
Ji Ying was dressed in a black robe that was tightly wrapped around her body. She was thin and slender, and her eyes flashed with a sinister light, which added to her eerie aura.
The two stood facing each other, one in white and one in black, one an immortal and one a demon, a stark contrast.
The air was thick with tension and a sense of oppression.
Ji Ying not only had to concentrate on dealing with her, but also had to spare some attention to fight against the all-pervasive gale.
Chu Lengyu, on the other hand, was fully recovered and in excellent condition. With the protection of a treasure like the Wind-Riding Pearl, she was able to move freely in the gale.
Ji Ying knew that he would have little chance of gaining the upper hand in this situation, and he could also see that Chu Lengyu was waiting for him to tire himself out, intending to exhaust his spiritual power and energy.
But the waters of the Demon Abyss are on this woman. He cannot leave the Gale Layer, yet she has come to him willingly. He is unwilling to let such an opportunity slip by.
Moreover, she possesses a treasure that can ward off the fierce winds, which is exactly what he desperately needs. Isn't this heaven helping him?
"Hmph, you've come to hell on your own!" His voice sounded somewhat ethereal in the strong wind, but it still carried an undeniable confidence.
He poured all his killing intent into his sword strikes, making them incredibly sharp. He slashed down fiercely, intending to cleave Chu Lengyu in two to vent his hatred.
Chu Lengyu did not want to confront Ji Ying head-on, so she used her unique sword to cleverly deflect the opponent's pressure.
She moved with agility, skillfully dodging the flashing sword light, then retreated several feet away to stand firmly.
Ji Ying snorted coldly, and with a flick of her sword fingers, the spirit sword instantly transformed into dozens of flying swords, which swirled and danced in the air, exuding an imposing aura.
Chu Lengyu remained calm and composed. With a thought, the Xuan Guan Shield appeared instantly, shining brightly and protecting her entire body.
"A multitude of swords unleashed!" Ji Ying shouted in a low voice, raising his finger slightly.
The sword light intensified, instantly transforming into tens of thousands of illusory sword shadows, like a surging river of sword light, rushing towards Chu Lengyu.
Such wide-range spells may appear dazzling, but their power is actually dispersed.
However, with the enhancement of Ji Ying's Nascent Soul stage cultivation, its power should not be underestimated.
Therefore, she mainly used dodging to avoid direct confrontation.
Ji Ying remained expressionless and quietly withdrew her hand. However, something flew out from her sleeve and, under the cover of the simultaneous attack of ten thousand swords, silently concealed itself in the sword light and flew straight towards the shield that Chu Lengyu had erected.
By the time Chu Lengyu realized what was happening, it was already too late. She could only hurriedly hold the Xuan Guang Shield in front of her.
The one-time use magic weapon used in the sneak attack exploded instantly, releasing a large amount of dense baleful energy. It not only shattered the Xuan Guang Shield's protective shield, but also caused the shield itself to shake violently and emit a mournful cry.
What caught everyone off guard was that the explosion of the magic weapon also contained a shock to the divine sense, causing Chu Lengyu to feel dizzy for a moment.
A smug look flashed across Ji Ying's face. Taking advantage of the moment before her consciousness had fully recovered, he slightly raised his finger, and the spirit sword whistled out, intending to take advantage of her vulnerability and achieve success in one fell swoop.
However, under the protection of the Jizhou Cauldron, Chu Lengyu broke free from the spiritual attack in an instant.
She quickly regulated her slightly disordered spiritual energy and poured more spiritual energy into the Xuan Guang Shield to deal with the impending crisis.
The sword light, like a dragon, crashed down and collided with the Xuan Guang Shield, producing a muffled explosion that demonstrated the power of Ji Ying's move.
But his methods clearly went beyond that.
Seeing that the situation was not as he wished, a resolute look flashed in his eyes, and he took out a small black cauldron from his storage bag.
This cauldron exudes an astonishing demonic aura, inspiring fear in all who behold it.
Chu Lengyu was slightly surprised to see this.
She had forgotten that although the Parasite Clan behaved differently from ordinary demons, they were ultimately of the orthodox bloodline of demons, and using demonic artifacts was their true nature.
As soon as the black cauldron appeared, it greedily devoured Ji Ying's life force, causing Ji Ying's face to turn pale instantly. The aura emanating from the black cauldron became increasingly terrifying, as if it could devour all life force.
Chu Lengyu felt her blood and qi flow obstructed and was startled. She immediately used the power of the Nine Cauldrons to enhance her defense and prepared to retreat below the gale layer at any time.
The situation instantly became tense and delicate.
"I'll say it one last time: hand over the Water of the Demon Abyss, and I might spare your life!" Ji Ying stared intently at Chu Lengyu and said sternly, "Once the passage between the two worlds opens, this place will be completely turned into the Plague God's ranch. By then, even if you want to beg for mercy and become my slave, it will be too late!"
Upon hearing this, Chu Lengyu shook her head slightly.
If he were truly that confident, he wouldn't be wasting his breath trying to coerce or persuade her.
Although the parasitic race already knew about this world, the passage between the two worlds was not so easy to open.
After gaining some understanding of the parasites, she believed there was still room for maneuver within them.
Parasitic tribes have various management methods for what they call "ranches".
The most common approach to dealing with lower-class worlds is to foster a local demonic cult, promote the belief in the God of Plague, and then hold a grand sacrificial ceremony every few decades to take the opportunity to plunder souls and resources.
Only in resource-rich intermediate or even advanced worlds is it possible to open stable passages between the two realms.
They even went so far as to lift the entire world up, drag it into the demon realm, and devour it all.
Is this desolate lower realm of Great Xia really worth the price they have to pay?
After being rejected, Ji Ying stared at her, her gaze almost murderous.
He said in a deep voice, "Hmph, stubborn fool! Since you're determined to die, don't blame me for being ruthless!"
After saying that, he channeled his spiritual power and blood energy into the small black cauldron.
The small cauldron, infused with such immense power, immediately emitted an even denser and more terrifying demonic aura.
Seeing this, Chu Lengyu was frightened, but she did not back down on the surface.
She flashed away, deliberately retreating to create distance. At the same time, she decisively took out several magical artifacts she had obtained from Kuang Dao from her storage bag, commanded them to rush towards Ji Ying, and ordered them to self-destruct.
This tactic, though seemingly shameless, is quite practical.
She accumulated more and more magical treasures, but none of them could compare to the Nine Cauldrons level, so she had no choice but to keep them all and find a way to dispose of them later. She would destroy a few of them without feeling any pain.
Even controlling the three cauldrons simultaneously is now a struggle for her, and she cannot abandon other magical treasures such as the Unique Sword and the Mystic Light Shield. Other magical treasures are indeed not worth mentioning in her heart.
Ji Ying's expression changed slightly. He dared not take the attack head-on and dodged it with a flash.
However, the moment he moved, the small black cauldron flew out, releasing blood light and mist, its evil aura overwhelming.
A blood-red, eerie light emerged from the black cauldron like a ghost, and then, with lightning speed, it attacked Chu Lengyu's head.
Chu Lengyu felt a chill run down her spine, but her reaction was extremely swift.
At this critical moment, she dodged again, narrowly avoiding the fatal attack.
The blood-red light, like a knife, shattered the space where she had stood, leaving behind a series of dense spatial cracks that took a long time to heal.

A few random thoughts,
I've never written a fight scene before, but this time I wanted to try designing one and write more, since there are still quite a few battle scenes to come.
The Parasite Clan storyline is quite short, only a few tens of thousands of words long.
As guides through the myriad worlds and starry seas, they will continue to assert their presence.
In addition, it's normal for the female lead to be ambushed or suffer minor losses occasionally, since everyone has to grow and there are bound to be setbacks, but the protagonist will never be abused.
In my imagination, there are still quite a few fantasy and cultivation-themed stories. I can't keep avoiding my weakest area, which is combat. I want to practice and make up for it.
When I actually tried to write, I felt my mind was blank and I couldn't put pen to paper.
But it feels great to finish writing it; you've overcome another difficult problem, and it gives you a great sense of accomplishment.
