Rebirth of a Portable Space: Transforming My Hometown

Chapter 225 Wilderness Discovery

Chapter 225 Wilderness Discovery

Those who make it to the international competition aren't fools. If these two had encountered summoned beasts of other attributes, they might have tried to ambush them.

There's no need for them to do that; they're both old foxes, why are they acting out some kind of ghost story?

Whichever side makes a move, they will absolutely not gain anything by attacking the other; the most likely outcome of their conflict is mutual destruction.

Today is only the first day of the competition; there's no need to make things so bad that both sides are severely injured, making their survival difficult later on.

Therefore, the two people who met decisively chose to cooperate. That's right, not to go to war, nor to nod their heads and walk away, but to cooperate.

The current environment is most advantageous for their summoned beasts.

They can take advantage of the environment to eliminate one enemy at a time, but their individual combat abilities are not very strong.

So they agreed to cooperate first, and then decide who won and who lost based on their abilities.

Although neither of them could completely trust the other, there was an uncanny connection between them.

In the misty jungle, relying on the summoned beast's special abilities, the two of them quickly found an unlucky fellow.

Angelo from the Celestial Maiden Kingdom, her main summoned beast is the Blazing Bird, a fire-type battle pet.

This damp environment was already not very favorable for her, and the sticky feeling made her summoned beasts particularly irritable.

Their strength was also reduced by half in this environment, and they were caught off guard by Fu Hong and Ga'er's sneak attack.

However, the national team is the national team; no matter which team makes it to the international competition, their strength should not be underestimated.

Angelo's final, desperate counterattack, the Blazing Bird's frenzied burning, actually evaporated the water vapor surrounding the island.

Of course, Angelo also lost his fighting ability after just one move and decisively chose to give up the match.

She also became the fastest contestant to be eliminated in an international competition.

The others on Yufei's island did indeed benefit from her; with the pervasive fog gone, their visibility instantly improved significantly.

The only two unhappy people were Fu Hong and Ga Er. They had just cooperated and eliminated one person, and the favorable environment for them was gone!

In this environment, there's little point in them playing a sneak attack while cooperating.

Fu Hong predicted that the environment on the island, altered by that summoner, wouldn't last more than a few days before it reverted to being shrouded in dense fog.

These past few days, however, they haven't been able to achieve complete trust in each other, and being together has only increased their conflicts.

So they discussed it and decided to part ways, hoping to meet again someday. If they were to meet again when the thick fog once more enveloped the island, they would cooperate once more.

Of course, none of this had anything to do with Yufei. Just as they were launching a sneak attack on the first-place player, Yufei followed the instructions of the lucky little turtle.

Following the direction the glans had given her, she unexpectedly found a freshwater source.

It was a medium-sized lake. When Yufei passed by, she saw some small animals drinking water at the lakeside, creating a very harmonious scene.

If Yufei were to look at it from the audience's perspective, she would see that she had already distanced herself from the group of people competing, all alone in a different place.

In the eyes of the audience, she was simply blessed by Lady Luck, incredibly lucky.

After arriving here, Yufei didn't rest much and immediately found a place to set up camp.

They collected many large leaves and started building the shed!

It was at this moment that the already thin fog dissipated.

This made things much easier for Yufei. After she built a decent-looking little thatched hut at the spot she had chosen,

Her stomach started growling. "Man is made of iron, food is steel; you get hungry if you skip a meal," Yufei thought, determined not to neglect herself, and began considering what to eat to satisfy her craving.

There's a lake here, and there must be fish in it, but... Yufei walked to the lakeside, and seeing that it wasn't a small lake, she definitely wouldn't go into the water.

She didn't know if there were any dangers in the lake, but that didn't deter her. If she couldn't go into the water, she could make a fish trap or a simple fishing rod and see if she could catch a fish.

Without hesitation, Yufei searched around and found a type of grass with slender, resilient leaves in a patch of grass near the lake.

This kind of grass is perfect for weaving fish baskets, but ordinary people simply can't pull it up. Could this possibly stump Yufei?! Impossible!

She summoned her cat, Little Black, and with a single swipe of its paw, the leaf was as tender as tofu.

In addition, Yufei also found another type of bare plant with only its stem remaining next to this grass.

Out of curiosity, Yufei inexplicably broke off a branch, and this one branch led her to discover an excellent species.

The broken piece wasn't completely severed; rather, like the lotus root of the Great Xia Dynasty, it had strands of silk running through its center.

It was extremely thin, as if it would break with the slightest pull, yet it was incredibly resilient. Yufei tried to break it, but it just kept getting longer and longer, without feeling like it was about to break at all.

It continued until a dozen or so threads were pulled out, and there was nothing left inside.

Yufei took one of the grass strands and pulled hard from the middle towards both ends.

The silk thread grew thinner and longer with Yufei's pulling, yet showed no sign of breaking. Yufei stared in astonishment.

Still unwilling to give up, she summoned Little Black, stretched the silk thread taut, and had Little Black paw at the taut spot.

Little Black didn't understand why its owner wanted it to swat at such a delicate creature; wasn't that a waste of its talent?

But being an obedient little bastard, it didn't understand but still showed support. Little Black, seemingly unconcerned, casually slashed down with its paw in the direction Yufei had indicated.

In Xiao Hei's original plan, a single swipe of its claw should have cleaved the thing in two.

Actually, that's not the case. Just like when it was being pulled, the part of Xiao Hei that was exerting force became thinner and longer, but it didn't break.

Moreover, Yufei was surprised to find that the area she had pulled had returned to its original state, meaning that the thread could recover after being stretched and deformed!

Little Black stared wide-eyed in disbelief, looking at its paws and then at the thread in its owner's hand.

It meowed defiantly, wanting Yufei to fix it so it could try again!

Having already reached a conclusion, Yufei didn't dampen Xiaohei's spirits; instead, she indulgently played with it twice more.

The result was the same. Later, Yufei was so hungry that she wove a fish basket out of the leaves that Xiaohei had cut off and found a few places to fish.

Using the grass stalks he had just discovered, he made a simple fishing rod. Using whatever materials he could find, he dug up some insects from the riverbank mud to use as bait and cast the line, waiting for the fish to bite.

She wasn't idle while fishing; she told the little turtle to watch the fishing rod and call her if there was any movement (through telepathy).

She then went into the jungle to look for any fruits, wild vegetables, or other food that could satisfy her hunger.

And are there any seasonings similar to scallions, ginger, and garlic that can remove the fishy smell? Yufei is quite particular about food.
