Chapter 151 151
Chapter 151 151
If it weren't postponed, these old men would have come looking for him first!
"This matter! Does it have anything to do with you?!"
The old man glared and gritted his teeth, then surrounded them all.
The balcony, the bathroom, the bedroom door—everywhere you could escape was blocked.
In the cramped space, a quick glance revealed that everyone was carrying a knife.
With such a large commotion, Gu Xinglan didn't dare to breathe too loudly.
"Tie him up."
As soon as he finished speaking, several thick nylon ropes were wrapped around and around, quickly binding the person to the sofa.
After they were tied up, it became even clearer what they were like; they all looked fierce and menacing. Gu Xinglan could only try her best to avoid making eye contact with any of them.
"I just arrived this morning, and this has already happened tonight. Did you do it?!" The old man in blue stripes slammed the knife onto the wooden chair and strode menacingly to the sofa.
No one answered.
"Did you hear me?!"
Suddenly, the knife was pressed against his cheek.
"Hey." The car rental guy blocked the knife and stared at him.
"Little brat, we haven't even pursued the matter of you stealing the car, yet you dare to bring those guys over to take away our livelihood. Isn't that a bit unfair of you?"
Even old thugs remain thugs; according to that child, it was something that happened several months ago.
Gu Xinglan looked up and said timidly, "Gentlemen, please have mercy! I don't know what happened. You came here with knives and tied me up..."
"No, you know."
The old man laughed and waved.
Suddenly, a man with a bruised and swollen face was brought in from outside.
It was the photographer who had gone out with Li Hetai before, but now he was beaten beyond recognition, his face was swollen all over, and even the bruise on his right eye was so purple that the flesh was no longer visible.
His pupils contracted upon seeing this.
This was clearly an attempt to pin the blame on him. Gu Xinglan glanced at the photographer and immediately lowered his head again: "What exactly do you want?"
"Money, nothing else, I just want money."
"I know you, my good girl, usually eat and drink well when you go out, and you even have the son of a big boss. When you want to be on TV, just beg him, and maybe he'll slip some money out of his fingers."
"Not much, just two hundred thousand. Take it and we'll never bother you again."
"If you can't produce it, don't even think about living to see the sun rise tomorrow."
"Gentlemen, I don't know that big boss, I've never even met him. How am I supposed to ask him for money? I can't just conjure money out of thin air. You're all just targeting me and exploiting me. Even a sheep can't withstand this kind of fleecing!" Gu Xinglan was almost in tears.
"I don't care who you ask for the money from! If the boss won't pay, the TV production company will, and if that doesn't work, you can pay!" The old man bared his teeth and came over with a knife: "Anyway, you have to give us back all the money we lost."
There was a "squeak" sound.
The bedroom door suddenly opened.
The sound was extremely jarring in the living room.
Everyone was stunned.
Gu Xinglan's heart was pounding in her throat.
This kid! Why isn't he staying in his room? What is he doing out here?!
"Where's Lao Zhang...?"
Someone noticed that the person who was supposed to be guarding the bedroom door was gone.
Instead, there was a bewildered child's face.
The incident happened so suddenly that no one in the room could react. They could only watch as the child, with his hands behind his back, slowly walked to the armchair with the short knife that Old Zhang should have been holding.
"Little friend—" The old man had just uttered the words with a gloomy face when suddenly, he saw a ghostly afterimage.
In the blink of an eye, it was almost impossible to tell how the child was flying. Cries of pain rang out one after another, and even plum blossom-like marks appeared on the floor.
They watched helplessly as the gray-haired old men suddenly collapsed and rolled on the ground one after another.
Gu Xinglan sat on the sofa, almost eye to eye with Li Hetai.
He saw it clearly.
Li Hetai used the momentum to jump from the sofa to the chair, his agility was unbelievable. His short knife skills were superb, and he could take down two old men with cloudy eyes in the blink of an eye, not to mention running all over the house.
He saw clearly.
That stamina is unbelievably strong.
With a hiss, the nylon rope, about half the thickness of a finger, was cut in two.
Freed from restraint, Gu Xinglan looked at the elderly people who were recovering and wanted to pick up Li Hetai and leave. However, her outstretched head was pressed back onto the sofa by that cold hand. The force was so strong that her forehead went numb for a moment.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Li Hetai's sharp, icy gaze shooting over him. He suddenly froze, obediently lying back down, staring intently at the child.
Just then, the police siren went off outside.
Then came the sound of hurried footsteps approaching from below, the sound of shoes pounding in the rickety stairwell sending a chill down one's spine.
Li Hetai, after cutting the rope, squeezed into a single sofa, looking quite relaxed.
The space was extremely cramped, and Li Hetai was seen reaching out his hand to re-tie the rope.
At the entrance, the beams of flashlights were already approaching.
"Police! Don't move!"
"..."
An elderly man, crooked and disheveled, bloodstains and a knife, and two overly clean and tidy people on a single sofa...
Who called the police?
The police officers, holding stun guns, were still recovering from the shock.
After a long while, a "whoosh..." sound came from inside the room.
The child's sobs slowly began, and Gu Xinglan felt a wetness on the spot where her right shoulder had been leaned against.
He looked at the police: "We hadn't even had dinner yet when these people suddenly broke into the house, carrying knives."
When the rope was untied, the child in his arms was still sniffing against his neck.
Gu Xinglan could only hold the child tightly in her arms.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the group of elderly people crying out in pain.
I looked around, but the two main old men weren't there.
“Wait, there are two other people.” One was the guy who rented him his bicycle, and the other was a man in a blue striped shirt.
"Your surname is Gu, right?"
The man, dressed in a blue uniform, glanced around and said, "There are knives, bloodstains, and signs of conflict at the scene, but there is no CCTV footage."
Upon hearing this, he froze on the spot.
"We've just discovered that an elderly person has lost vital signs..."
The words struck him like a hammer blow, sending chills down his spine. Gu Xinglan hugged the person in his arms tighter, suppressing the panic on his face.
"You need to come with us to the police station."
"Wait a minute, officer, they broke in with knives, it's a home invasion robbery!" Gu Xinglan's voice trembled without her even realizing it.
"We have received evidence from eyewitnesses that you have a dispute with these elderly people. We value lives and need your cooperation in our investigation." The police officer's voice was emphasized.
Police officers were collecting bloodstains everywhere inside the house.
He was absolutely certain that not a single drop of it belonged to him or Li Hetai.
Before Gu Xinglan even stepped out the door, she heard outside:
"Oh dear, who knows? I heard that the young man killed the old man's dog, which led to his car being stolen. The old man came over this morning to demand compensation..."
"I saw it. That young man even lied to Grandpa Wang's grandson. I think he's holding a grudge about what happened this morning, and maybe he brought the child and the old man into the house..."
"Breakout robbery?! What's there to rob?! Those old folks have sons and grandchildren, they should be enjoying their retirement! Why would they do something like this!"
"In my opinion, it was that murderer who had murderous intent and lured the old people over to kill them all at once."
"..."
The so-called eyewitnesses were his neighbors who avoided him like the plague.
It's ridiculous!
"Nonsense!" Gu Xinglan said angrily, her face turning red.
