Chapter 556: No Need for Another Younger Brother
Chapter 556: No Need for Another Younger Brother
How could someone like that be worthy of being the brother of the eldest sister-in-law?
The eldest sister-in-law only needs one brother like him.
Thinking this, Pei Yang showed no expression on his face.
He ignored the boy, walked right past him, and entered the main gate.
Chen Bing and Shen Yueyue, standing nearby, heard their conversation, but neither of them had any intention of speaking.
As they saw Pei Yang enter the gate, they exchanged a glance and then followed him inside.
After Pei Yang waited for both of them to come in, he casually closed the door.
Closing the door behind them, Pei Yang walked briskly toward the living room.
As soon as he entered the room, he saw that the stove had already been set up, right behind the sofa.
To be honest, the design and color really matched the room.
The outside of the stove seemed to be made of bronze, but it was coated with gold paint.
The exterior of the stove was chubby, somewhat like a pumpkin, and it was intricately carved.
Inside, a cylindrical shape was crafted from stone, standing upright in it.
Inside the stone was an iron bucket, which was the place to put the charcoal.
With the stone acting as a barrier, even if the charcoal burned, the bronze outside wouldn’t get hot, so there was no worry of accidentally getting burned.
On top, there was an intricately carved lid with openwork.
Jiang Ran was standing beside the stove, carefully examining it.
After staring at it for a while, Jiang Ran said, "Later, we can custom-make some iron racks or plates, put them on top of the iron bucket, and use them for grilling food."
As Jiang Ran spoke, she turned her head and saw Pei Yang coming in.
Pei Yang had a blank expression on his face, his brows tightly furrowed.
Seeing Pei Yang’s expression, Jiang Ran guessed that something was definitely wrong.
"What’s the matter?" Jiang Ran asked softly.
Wasn’t everything fine before? How did he become so unhappy all of a sudden?
When Pei Yang heard Jiang Ran’s question, he glanced at her, but didn’t answer immediately.
Seeing Pei Yang staring at her but not speaking, Jiang Ran got a hint.
"Is it something to do with me?"
After Jiang Ran asked, Pei Yang nodded.
Even though she had guessed it, seeing Pei Yang admit it, Jiang Ran still found it strange.
If it was about her, then what could it be?
Pei Yang seemed very hesitant and unwilling to speak about it.
Jiang Ran didn’t urge him but just watched him quietly.
After a good while, Pei Yang finally sighed heavily and started to speak.
"Earlier, when I was out shopping, I encountered a boy..."
After Pei Yang recounted the events, he spoke of what had just happened at the door.
"He suddenly ran out and blocked my way, claiming that he looked somewhat like you, and said his elder sister went missing when she was young. He also mentioned that his sister was very strong from a young age."
After listening, Jiang Ran raised an eyebrow.
In terms of age, this younger brother should not have been born when the original owner went missing.
So, how did he know she was very strong when she was young?
Could it be that someone has been mentioning her in his presence all these years?
Although Jiang Ran found it odd, she had no intention to delve into it.
The Jiang Family no longer had anything to do with her.
As for that younger brother...
Jiang Ran smiled at Pei Yang, "I already have a brother like you, why would I need another one?"
Being as smart as Jiang Ran, she had already guessed why Pei Yang was unhappy?
