Chapter 291 Bo Junxing, come to our wedding sometime!
Gu Mingxi wasn't feeling well. After taking a shower, she only managed a few bites of food before putting down her chopsticks.
She didn't say much, only asking a few simple questions about Shen Xubai's condition, before getting up to go back to her room to rest.
As soon as she stood up, Shen Mo immediately stood up as well and carefully helped her leave.
Suddenly, only the brother and sister remained at the table, and the dishes were almost untouched.
"Are you still going to eat?" Shen Xingyan asked after taking a bite of rice.
"Eat up, we can't waste so much food." Shen Feiwan picked up a piece of green vegetable with her chopsticks. "Mom must have suffered a lot this past month."
She sighed, "I'm not used to her not scolding me."
"Really?" Shen Xingyan put down his bowl with a serious expression. "Then what kind of scolding do you want? Or should I do it?"
Shen Feiwan rolled her eyes, picked up a chicken leg and stuffed it into his bowl, saying, "Eat yours, shut your mouth."
The two chatted casually until Shen Mo returned to the restaurant.
"Is Mom asleep?" Shen Feiwan asked.
"Yeah, I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow." Shen Mo sat back down in his seat and said, "The pressure inside was too much; I couldn't sleep well at all."
“Yes, Dad, have some more. You haven’t touched your chopsticks much.” Shen Feiwan ladled him a bowl of soup, hesitated for a moment, and then said, “I think it would be best to take Mom to the hospital for a heart check-up tomorrow.”
Shen Mo nodded, then suddenly said, "Wanwan, I haven't told your mother about your marriage to Xiaoyan yet. She just got home today and hasn't had a chance to ask about your situation yet, so don't take it to heart."
Shen Feiwan put down her chopsticks in surprise. "Dad, what are you saying? Why are you being so formal? This is nothing. I didn't take it to heart at all. Right now, the most important thing is to take care of Mom's feelings and her health."
Shen Mo sighed and said, "I made you do something you didn't want to do, and you suffered."
“Okay,” Shen Feiwan sighed, “We’ve talked about this countless times. I don’t feel wronged at all. Don’t put so much pressure on yourselves. Today is a good day, and we should all be happy. Next, let my older brother go home.”
"Yes, today is definitely worth celebrating."
Shen Mo happily drank two more glasses, and even Shen Feiwan, who couldn't hold her liquor, poured herself a small glass.
She remains as terrible at drinking as ever.
After downing a small glass of red wine, her entire face flushed.
Unsteady on her feet, Shen Feiwan returned to her room and collapsed into the soft bedding, too exhausted to even take off her shoes.
The ceiling spun in front of me, but then my phone rang abruptly.
"Hello..." she mumbled as she answered the phone, her cheek pressed against the cold sheets, squinting at the caller ID on the screen. "Are you... Bo Junxing?"
"Otherwise what?" Bo Junxing's voice came through the receiver. "Has the date been set? I'll be going on a business trip soon, I won't be in the country, it might take a few months."
"Life..." Shen Feiwan closed her eyes, the alcohol making her thoughts heavy and confused, like cotton soaked in water.
What he said was completely nonsensical.
Bo Junxing asked about the date of her abortion, but she answered with her wedding date.
"It's settled..." she mumbled in reply. "I'm getting married on the eighth day of the Lunar New Year. It's an auspicious day. Are you free that day? Come to my wedding if you're free."
There was silence on the other end of the phone for a few seconds.
It took a long time before voices reached Shen Feiwan's ears.
"Congratulations then." Bo Junxing's voice suddenly turned cold, as if it had been chilled to the bone. "I didn't expect you to act so quickly."
He paused, emphasizing each word, "Before you get married, you should get rid of your ex-husband's child, right?"
Shen Feiwan chuckled. She didn't answer, but simply hung up the phone.
The phone rang again soon after.
Frustrated, she shoved her phone under her pillow, but the ringtone stubbornly kept going.
Finally, she simply pressed and held the power button, and the world was finally quiet.
She drifted off to sleep before the room lights were even off.
