Chapter 190 Not a Substitute
Chapter 190 Not a Substitute
Song Yanzhou quickly drove the car back to the hotel.
As they entered the lobby, they happened to run into Bo Junxing's assistant.
The assistant must have just finished eating out, because upon seeing them, he immediately came forward to greet them, "President Bo, President Song."
Song Yanzhou responded enthusiastically, but Bo Junxing didn't even nod this time and walked straight ahead.
The assistant sensed the oppressive atmosphere emanating from Bo Junxing and couldn't help but frown slightly.
The three of them got on the elevator.
The assistant and Song Yanzhou stood behind Bo Junxing.
Song Yanzhou felt the atmosphere in the elevator was so oppressive that it was hard to breathe, so he couldn't help but talk to his assistant, "Don't frown like your boss, it's annoying me."
The assistant paused for a moment, then asked in a low voice, "Did you not enjoy dinner?"
Song Yanzhou raised an eyebrow, his tone tinged with helplessness, "Of course, we ran into that person."
The assistant didn't react for a moment. "Who is that...?" He was halfway through his sentence when he suddenly realized what was going on and immediately shut up.
Song Yanzhou sighed, "Now you understand, right? Sigh, that's how it is."
He paused, then said, "You probably don't have any work to report to him today, right? My suggestion is to wait until tomorrow, since it's already past closing time."
As they were talking, the elevator dinged and stopped at the floor where Song Yanzhou's room was located.
Before stepping out of the elevator, he turned back and instructed his assistant, "His stomach isn't feeling well, so he didn't eat much for dinner. But he's already taken some stomach medicine. You can handle it."
The assistant nodded. "Understood."
The elevator doors closed and continued upwards.
After a while, the elevator stopped on the 35th floor.
The assistant walked ahead and quickly went to open the door for Bo Junxing.
But after opening the door, he showed no intention of leaving.
Bo Junxing glanced at him, his brows furrowing slightly. "What's wrong? Is something the matter?"
The assistant pursed his lips and forced a smile, saying, "There is something I need to discuss."
Bo Junxing didn't say anything more and went straight into the room.
The assistant knew this meant he was allowed to go in, and immediately followed.
He first poured a cup of hot water and then placed it on the coffee table in front of Bo Junxing.
Bo Junxing was frowning and leaning back on the sofa with his eyes closed when he heard his assistant approach. His voice was low and deep. "Speak."
The assistant took a deep breath, his voice tinged with caution, "Actually, I met Ms. Shen a few days ago at the investment forum lecture. She was with her female friend."
"..." Bo Junxing closed his eyes even tighter, his voice as cold as ice, "Then why didn't you tell me sooner?"
The assistant hesitated for a moment, "I thought you were no longer interested in Miss Shen's matter, so I didn't mention it to you."
Bo Junxing slowly opened his eyes, his gaze icy. "Anything else?"
The assistant, under that gaze, didn't dare to even breathe loudly.
He now feels that his boss is actually saying one thing but meaning another—he says he doesn't care about that person anymore, but when it comes to that person, he seems more interested than anyone else.
He had no choice but to bite the bullet and continue, "It seems that Miss Shen is also staying at this hotel."
Upon hearing this, Bo Junxing suddenly chuckled, "So that time when someone wanted to get on the elevator, but you pressed the close button, it was because they were outside?"
"……Yes."
Bo Junxing sneered, his tone tinged with anger, "Very well, you're quite something too."
His fingers tapped unconsciously on the sofa armrest. "Anything else? Tell me all at once."
The assistant dared not hide anything any longer, "That's all I know about Miss Shen."
Bo Junxing's gaze was unfocused. After a few seconds of silence, he suddenly looked at his assistant.
"Find out which room she stayed in, and who invited her to that lecture. Also, there was a male doctor surnamed Su with her."
"Yes."
The assistant acknowledged and then quickly turned and left Bo Junxing's room, as if staying even a second longer would make him feel suffocated by the oppressive atmosphere.

A gentle night breeze caressed the riverbank.
The lights reflected on the water, creating a shimmering effect.
Su Qingyuan handed the newly bought glowing red antler headband to Shen Feiwan, saying, "I saw someone selling it at the mall entrance, so I bought one too. I don't know if you'll like it."
Shen Feiwan took it, glanced at it, and smiled slightly. "It's quite pretty. You have good taste."
She casually put the headband on her head, turned her head to ask Su Qingyuan, "Does it look good?"
Su Qingyuan nodded, his voice gentle, "It looks good."
But his gaze was somewhat unfocused, clearly indicating that he was not paying attention.
Shen Feiwan saw through it and chuckled lightly, "Ask whatever you want, whether I tell you or not is my business. But if you're going to keep it to yourself like this the whole way while we walk, then I think we might as well go home separately."
Su Qingyuan stopped and looked at Shen Feiwan's face, his voice muffled, "You know that man from earlier, right?"
Shen Feiwan hummed in response, her tone casual, "My ex-husband."
She paused, then suddenly smiled, "By the way, Dr. Su, do you not usually like surfing the internet?"
Su Qingyuan was still immersed in the word "ex-husband" and didn't hear the second half of Shen Feiwan's sentence at all.
His brows furrowed slightly, and his eyes held a complex expression.
Seeing his expression, Shen Feiwan couldn't help but sigh. "You mind a lot, don't you? It seems you're not suited to the kind of relationship I envisioned. If you care so much, we won't get along."
“No,” Su Qingyuan immediately denied, his voice tinged with urgency, “that’s not what I meant. I just didn’t expect that someone who looks so young would have already been married once.”
He spoke again, his tone tinged with apology, "What did you ask me just now? I didn't hear you clearly."
Shen Feiwan repeated, "I asked you if you don't usually go online."
Su Qingyuan nodded, "Yes, I don't usually like to go online. I think it's a waste of time."
Shen Feiwan hummed in agreement and said knowingly, "That explains it. But don't your colleagues go online? Has no one ever told you that you look like someone?"
Su Qingyuan's heart sank slightly, and she gave a bitter laugh. "The person you're talking about, you must be your ex-husband, right?"
Shen Feiwan raised an eyebrow, indicating her agreement.
Su Qingyuan chuckled self-deprecatingly, "So you're willing to give it a try with me because I look like your ex-husband?... But if that's the case, why did you two get divorced in the first place? Was it him who brought it up first?"
Shen Feiwan shook her head. "No, quite the opposite, I was the one who brought it up first."
She looked directly at Su Qingyuan and said, "There's one more thing you've got wrong. I didn't fall for you because I was attracted to his looks. It's just that I personally like this type of appearance, and you and he happen to look like that. If you can't accept that, then this is the end of it."
As she spoke, Shen Feiwan took off her headband and handed it back to Su Qingyuan.
Su Qingyuan took the headband and remained silent for a few seconds.
Then she raised her hand and gently put the headband on Shen Feiwan's head again.
His movements were very gentle. "I thought I was a stand-in, but now that I know I'm not, I'm relieved."
