Black Hearted Mage

Chapter 130 A Small Revenge 2

Chapter 130 A Small Revenge 2

The night, like thick ink, slowly permeated the Viscount's residence. Time slipped quietly, the moon hanging high in the sky, casting a cold glow. Meanwhile, the guards responsible for protecting the Viscount's residence, after long days of standing guard and patrolling, gradually fell into fatigue. Their eyelids began to grow heavy, and their steps lost their former vigor.

Initially, the guards were able to maintain a high level of vigilance, completing a full patrol every ten minutes or so. However, as the night deepened, the patrols became less frequent, and now, over an hour had passed before a team of guards could be seen slowly passing by.

In this quiet moment, Caesars quietly emerged from the tent. He wore a simple black magic robe, devoid of expensive gold and silver embroidery, mysterious magic patterns, or elaborate designs. It was simply the most common, ordinary style. Yet, as he held the dragon-bloodwood staff, emitting faint magical fluctuations, he exuded an awe-inspiring aura.

Caesars stared intently at the black snake in front of him that was twisting its head constantly, and called out softly: "Saint Paul, the time has come, we should go for revenge!"

This golden-eyed black demon snake was a typical nocturnal beast. Whenever night fell, its inner strength seemed to be aroused to a greater degree, and its movements became more agile and flexible. Upon hearing its master's command, it immediately excitedly flung out its tongue, ready to set off at any moment, and attempted to climb up along the staff.

"Don't be impatient, St. Paul, this time we can't let you coil around the staff like usual." Caesars hurriedly stopped him, "We must solve the target quietly and must not cause too much noise. So, just follow me obediently." After saying that, he gently patted the black snake's head to comfort it.

At this moment, a team of guards happened to walk slowly not far ahead, and they also took a look at the broken wall.

Caesars held his breath, waiting quietly for them to move away from him. Once he was sure there were no one else around, he instantly cast the Flash spell. His figure flashed like a ghost, effortlessly leaping over the broken wall strewn with rubble. Meanwhile, the black demon snake swiftly weaved through the rubble, following Caesars closely.

Caesars paused, and with the aid of his darkvision, he observed the situation in the backyard of the Viscount's mansion. There were two guards at the edge of the small castle, and nowhere else was there a single soul.

Several jungle hounds raised by Bruce were poisoned to death by black snakes half a month ago.

Caesars pulled out a black alchemical mask from his space ring. It looked remarkably similar to the leather masks worn by assassins, but a closer look revealed a hidden secret. Its eyes were protected by two crystal-clear, flawless colorless crystals, effectively blocking external attacks while imbuing the wearer with a cool and mysterious aura.

Caesars expertly placed the alchemical mask on his face, adjusting it for the most comfortable position. He then put away his magic wand and retrieved four or five small, exquisite crystal bottles filled with mysterious liquid. He clutched one of the bottles tightly in his left hand, while the rest were cleverly tucked into his belt for future use.

Once everything was ready, Caesars whispered an ancient and obscure spell, and a pale blue light instantly enveloped his entire body—he was casting the spell of invisibility! With the power of magic, his figure gradually faded, as if blending into the surrounding air. Then, with light and silent steps, he headed towards the small castle where Viscount Bruce stood. A long, slender, sinuous black snake, its body as black as ink, silently followed him, like a ghost in the night.

When they were more than twenty meters away from the guards at the castle gate, Caesars slowed down and quietly stopped. He narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze fixed on the two guards leaning against the wall not far ahead. It was clear that the two guards seemed exhausted from their long hours on duty. They closed their eyes tightly and leaned against the cold, hard castle wall to rest.

Caesars took a deep breath, gently unscrewed the cap of the crystal bottle in his right hand, and carefully tilted the bottle, allowing two drops of a deep blue, gem-like liquid to slowly flow out. Just as the liquid was about to hit the ground, Caesars quickly mobilized his magical power, precisely controlling it to hover in the air. Steadily supported by his magic, the two drops shone like two sapphires with a captivating luster, appearing particularly mysterious against the night sky.

Next, Caesars concentrated his mind, controlling the two drops of liquid to slowly drift toward the two guards. He silently watched as the liquid gradually approached its target, while mentally counting the two guards' breaths to ensure the action was carried out accurately...

After counting to five, the two guards collapsed to the ground against the outer wall. Caesars controlled two drops of liquid medicine and poured them directly into their noses.

This is a powerful sleeping potion. One drop can make a person sleep for four or five hours. Even if you punch and kick the two guards now, they will not wake up.

Caesars maneuvered the two unconscious guards into a sitting position, as if they were just taking a short rest. After completing this action, he walked quietly towards the back door of the castle.

The back door was constructed of incredibly solid ironwood, its thickness astonishing, its sturdiness undeniable. Furthermore, it was locked from the inside, undoubtedly secured with a heavy bolt. Faced with such a tightly closed and impenetrable door, ordinary people would likely be daunted.

Caesars didn't flinch. He raised his head slightly, his gaze quickly fixed on the top floor of the small castle. There, a small observation platform stood abruptly, about twenty meters above the ground. Although the height was staggering, it was not unattainable for Caesars, who possessed extraordinary abilities.

During the day, he had carefully observed the castle. The castle adopted the traditional architectural style of the Roland Continent, with windows so narrow that only a small amount of air could circulate, making it impossible for a person to fit through them. These windows existed solely to keep fresh air inside the castle.

It is particularly worth mentioning that there are several large windows on the top floor of the castle facing south. However, those places are usually the areas that are guarded by the guards and are densely populated. It is easy to imagine how difficult it is to sneak in without being noticed.

After making all the necessary preparations, Caesars silently chanted a spell, instantly casting the Light Body, Feather Fall, and Levitation spells on himself. Then, he grabbed the black snake coiled at his feet and wrapped it around his neck.

At this moment, the black snake seemed to be a little mischievous, and it stretched out its tongue to gently lick Caesar's neck. Caesar frowned slightly and warned fiercely: "Damn it, if you dare to lick my neck with your tongue again, I will roast you and eat you!"

The black magic snake was a little excited. Its triangular head was pressed against Caesar's neck, and its tongue kept moving in and out.

After making preparations, Caesars cast the Flash spell. He failed to control the height and appeared directly above the castle, exceeding the height of the small castle.

The range of the Flash spell was over twenty yards, and he habitually used violent spells, so he was now beyond the expected distance. Fortunately, he had a spell to slow down his descent, and he controlled the angle during his slow descent, landing steadily on the observation deck.

Against the wall stood a small wooden door with a crystal window. It had no brass lock, only a small bolt. Through the small window, one could observe what was going on inside. Behind the wooden door was a corridor. To the east of the corridor were the small living room and study. As for Viscount Bruce's bedroom, it was at the easternmost end of the castle.

Caesar's magic extended through the wooden door, removed the bolt, and opened the door.

Accompanied by a "creaking" sound, the sound was particularly clear in the silent night, and Caesars was frightened and broke out in a cold sweat.

After waiting for a while, no maid emerged. Caesars walked toward the door on the east side of the corridor, using his magic to probe the situation inside. There were people in the small living room, the study, and two maids sleeping in the south room.

The door to the southernmost room was enormous, significantly larger than the others. Caesars walked over and carefully explored the interior. Beyond the door were three more rooms: one was a private study, and in another, a maid slept, her dress hanging on a hanger.

In the southernmost room, when the magic power extended into it, vibrations were sensed. This was a high-frequency vibration, probably someone snoring.

Caesars gently turned the doorknob, making only a slight noise, and then he heard snoring. He walked to the door of the maid's room, wrapped a few drops of medicine with magic, and sent them into the room from under the door.

After completing all of this, Caesars walked with firm and resolute steps towards the room where the snoring was coming from. When he reached the door, he reached for the handle without hesitation and pushed it hard, and the door flew open instantly. Throughout the process, there was no trace of caution, no sign of hesitation, and no hesitation.

Entering the room, the first thing that caught my eye was the astonishingly large bed. Lying upon it lay two obese individuals, their mouths gaping open, their snoring resonating deafeningly. The thinner one was Ronald's daughter, while the more portly one was Viscount Bruce. Both were soundly asleep, oblivious to the impending danger.

Caesars, holding a bottle of potent sleeping potion, trotted quickly to the bedside. Without a pause, he flicked his wrist, and the deep blue liquid within, like a blooming flower, quickly spread across the pristine white sheets. The moment the liquid touched the sheets, it seemed to come alive and began to spread, forming a brilliant blue blossom.

This sleeping potion not only exudes a delicate, refreshing fragrance but is also highly volatile. Normally, in just half an hour, the blue "flower" would completely evaporate, leaving no trace. However, for the two fat men sleeping soundly in bed, time was of the essence.

Not long after Caesars poured the sleeping potion on the bed, the two fat men were still snoring loudly as before, but with every breath they took, they inevitably inhaled a large amount of the drug that could put people into a deep coma.

Time ticked by, and just two minutes later, the deafening snoring suddenly ceased. The entire room instantly became unusually quiet, leaving only the slowly spreading blue liquid and the two fat men lying motionless on the bed.

"Saint Paul, he's the one who wanted to kill me. Take a bite of this fat guy's neck, and I'll give you a snack when you're done!"

As Caesars spoke, he was grasping Viscount Bruce's plump hand, removing his storage ring. The black demon snake quickly climbed onto the bed, swam to Bruce's side, and opened its pitch-black serpentine mouth. Its sharp fangs pierced deeply into his flesh, injecting its deadly venom.

Caesars walked lightly to the other side of the large bed. He looked at the somewhat overweight woman, his eyes landing unerringly on the storage ring she was wearing. Just as Caesars reached out to remove the storage ring, a dark shadow suddenly flashed by like lightning.

It turned out to be a golden-eyed black devil snake. It pounced on the fat woman at an astonishing speed and bit the fat woman's neck fiercely.

Seeing this, Caesars couldn't help but frown. Initially, he hadn't intended to kill this woman. However, now that things had escalated to this point, he had no choice. If he wanted to save this woman bitten by the golden-eyed black snake, he would have to use a powerful antidote. But for Caesars, doing so was clearly too much of a risk.

Caesar began to search the room. He left no corner untouched, meticulously searching every possible hiding place for valuables. Drawers were opened one by one, cabinets were opened, and even under the bed, Caesar did not miss a thing. Anything that looked of some value was taken without hesitation.

The warm morning sun shone on the lounge chair in the middle of the lawn. The golden-eyed black snake, already sated and satisfied, coiled its inky black body and lazily lay on the lawn, enjoying this rare and relaxing moment.

Just then, a burst of hurried footsteps approached from afar. Soon, a petite figure in a purple dress ran up to the recliner. She was panting, her breathing coming in short gasps. After calming down a bit, she couldn't wait to speak to the person lying on the recliner, "Caesars, I just heard that Viscount Bruce is dead. And from what I've heard, his body has turned completely black!"

"Little Nivea, this fat guy must have eaten something wrong!" Caesars said with his eyes closed.
